I put a d-section seal on the slider itself. This one from ebay: Sponge EPDM D Section 19mm X 13mm Rubber Air Seal Door Strip Self Adhesive p/m | eBay

Documented in this thread: New deluxe GOE sliders
It is working well although it does collect a very small amount of debris - think dust, small granules of sand - on the top edge.

SubscriberOk, I have looked at both David and Scott's methods. Both look good but I have a leaning towards Scott's at this time.
Reason, if the strip is on the slider I can not hit the slider with a high pressure hose with the doors open as I might blow it off. I am also thinking it will trap debris from falling out when the door is open.
So, are there any advantages of one system over the other?
All the best,
Laurie

SubscriberDo what Tombie did. Replace the existing strip with one that provides the bulb that blanks the exposed area. It's the cleanest way.

Hi Laurie,
I agree and I'm going to change mine over to Scott's setup (I ordered the trimlok yesterday) as one of the other issues I have is that when I use the slider step to get into the car - less squashing of the seat bolster as I slide over - I have to be careful not to put my size 12 on the seal and push part of it off. I haven't done it yet but I'm sure I will eventually. With the seal on the door I can put my foot up against the slider step no issues...

SubscriberSomething else I consider useful, it's a bit easier to clean the d-seal itself when on the door. Partially open the door and stick the hose in one end until it runs clear out the other end and then hose some water across the seal area cleans it all up nicely after muddy or sandy conditions.
