    Wow. Absolute lowest price I found here in Sydney was $3500 for both sides! Quotes - all from indies with reasonable reputations for working on LR / Discos - ranged from this right up to $4k per side !!

    The indie I'm using have an excellent reputation and I'm very happy with them - $2200 one side at a time or $4k to do both at once...

    I have it booked in next week for normal A service @$500, belts @$1950, water pump @$410 plus manifold @$2200 - Grand total just over $5k I was thinking to do the alternator pre-emptively at the same time but I think I'll leave that 'til next service.

    These are the times when I really think about moving away from the D4 and LR in general.. hmm

    I do really enjoy the D4 but there is a price that we pay for the pleasure- literally.

    Can you confirm genuine manifolds (latest revision) were fitted?

    If you had a cruiser and needed a starter done for example you’d be in a far worse position to your wallet What happened to your D3/D4 today?

    In the LR world - Tech and comfort always comes at a price.
    Although 11 years on a suspension compressor is pretty good!
    And in 11 years you should expect a Cruiser to have 2 full sets of suspension. 4 D4 struts at 10 years works out cheap by comparison.

    I'm going to find the invoice and check, I was running off memory. They supplied and fitted.

    Update, found the credit card amount, was 2117.06 including GST on 30.9.2020. Apologies for the earlier lower value from (my apparently failing) memory. Time does fly. These were genuine manifolds.

    And time will tell how much worse the 300 is, after they get over this first recall that is .
