Thread: What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Car is running like a dream. Ride is sweet after all the suspension maintenance and off to Karijini at the end of the month. Wondering what’s going to go wrong. It’s just not right

they look a bit sad, I'm getting occasional park brake fault, handbrake light flashes and orange check brake pads comes on. Seems to take much longer for park brake to apply.

I'll adjust them on the weekend and see how they are, hopefully I don't have to replace the shoes.

Reading of others doing suspension work I am thinking I will need to do a fair bit on mine soon, starting to get a slight clunk when turning wheel to the right which indicates to me that LCA are due. Mine is a 2007 (Aug) D3, 306,000km and I am still on original upper and rear control arms. I had new air struts fitted late last year but it is wallowing about a lot so thinking the others must be getting close.
Doing all of that is beyond me as it is my only vehicle and I live alone, 25km to town and 35km to work so can't afford to stuff up something and be stranded while I wait for a part. Will need to get a quote to get it done I guess.

Need to get the front diff pinion seal done as well. $$$$$

Bit of faith DJ, she'll be right, car is well sorted now. Just watch those rocks on the gravel roads up there, they will and do damage tyres. We did a tyre driving from Knox Gorge back to the eco village campground.

Get your money back from whomever "serviced" your brakes. They should have told you they need replacing, it's their duty of care. They rekeased an unsafe and unroadworthy car back onto the road. If they don't want to, report them to the fair trade ombudsman. This repairer should have their licence revoked.

Yes the most brutal corrugated roads in all of WA are inside Karijini between gorges.

Oh right! I thought it was going to be a walk in the park (pardon the pun). Probably happy then that all the bushes are fresh and the Duratrac tyres are near new.

We didn't have any trouble on 19" with Hankook ATs at the time. Only drama was getting stuck behind people insisting on fannying about at 15km/hr over the corrugations
