From the postings I have read on AULRO I am probably more concerned about potential failure of auto trans shift rotary controller which will be hugely inconvenient if it fails anywhere other than in my driveway or outside Justin's workshop, or the tailgate latch assy which seems to give occasional problems.

Re this post of mine. For your "records" if it helps, mine spends around 30% of its life towing either a 9' x 5' tandem trailer with around 1 tonne load, and a 3 tonne 21ft caravan. I rarely take it above 2600 rpm, preferring to stay in the max torque band.

What’s the rationale to only including 2013+ models? Mine is a 2.7L 2011, is it a different set up?

Because I was curious if the newer model, and a number of revisions of the manifolds later, made the later models more reliable. Seems not.

At my last count the manifolds were on about their 8th version so you may need to advance the MY a year or 2 to be more certain of them being OK.

The boost of the 180 HP 3.0 flexes the manifolds more, causing cracking along the edges.

I've wondered about this and it would be great if Daza and Justin and other real mechanics (as opposed to amateur bunnies like me) could comment on any correlations they may have noticed on repairs that they have done.
I have a low power 3.0 (155HP I think) and it has all the power I need and seems to run completely unstressed.

I’ve been wondering the same actually. I also have a stock 3.0 TDV6, unmapped, and I can pull the 1.8t camper at 110kph up the steep expressway or freeway hills. Apart from turning off EGR and changing the accelerator map I’m personally not seeing the benefit of more power

I have also wondered about this line of thinking.
Perhaps Scott could re jig his spread sheet to indicate whether SDV6 or TDV6 against each vehicle?
    Might show something interesting?
