Yeah it will get very dirty. First major 4wd trip is in about 4 weeks across and back the Simpson desert .. I've got a very large custom 9mt caravan we are towing.. I'll post some pics of them together.. But here's one from a couple of weeks ago..
Nice looking van, can I ask if you don't mind who built it?
    Cheers,

    Hi Terry,
the Van is being built by Xpedition Campers on the Gold Coast. They are a small but extremely specialist builder of offroad vans and custom shells. They've built 3 of my vans all custom builds, in which i have also been extensively involved with the build.

The van is nothing like anything you would have ever seen. Lets just say to match the car, the electronics, Satelitte, Internet, TV and everything else it's in a lap of luxury..

Mr Fox...do you have Brembo brakes on your Sport? I have 20" Rims and would love to run that exact same set-up that you have but my Sport has the Brembo brakes and calipers which will limit my rim sizes (or so I'm told)

    Thx.

(very envious of your vehicle btw!)

Is your vehicle the 4.2 S/C sports?

    Cheers,

I run the larger brakes (and god they last like 15000km)! They are not the carbons but the large brembo's.

Yes the RIMS fit. However Gordon can help you with your vehicle.

Apologies for no updates. Been though a lot getting the car and van ready for the big trip.
I managed to grab a photo this afternoon of the car in its correct environment.

I promise to post some completed photos of the car, that only got finished on Wednesday this week!

Btw photo is on top of big red!

Damn new transmission map they loaded has changed how the gears work in sand modes. Took me 2 attempts to get upd, but managed to work out gear changes.

Insurance is with suncorp, and landrover have approved the bar well at least my dealer did with the other options. Opposite lock also has approved the bar.

Insurance all good with all extras and agreed value a little more expensive then other insurers but didn't give me any hassle.

Re your gearchange problem I found it best to go into command shift. Stops the gearbox from going up a ratio if you lift off a bit. Do you have Llams or rods? In my opinion essential for Simpson Desert.
