Hopefully the new Defender is rubbish at it. A Defender isn’t a sports car.
Agreed, i think it wont be rubbish but it wont be an SVR either by the looks of those pics.

Some pretty strong similarities between the Rivian pre production shots and the leaked JLR new defender older pre production dash, google "leaked defender dash". (My dealer unofficially confirmed layout has not changed)

All these regional towns have Landrover Dealerships and Service after a quick search

    Dubbo
    Tamworth
    Shepparton
    Ballarat
    Millicent
    Toowoombah
    Darwin

Back in the horse and carriage days, parts to remote areas where an issue, now if the closest dealer cant help, its overnighted or max 2-3days to nearly all of OZ.

So you really have a plethora of options, hopefully with over the air updates, software may even be able to be worked on remotely.

If your under warranty Landrover Care will take care of you anywhere anyway.

I wonder how tesla and rivian owners will go when they start venturing to the limits of their batteries and something goes wrong.
7 out of 12,000 isn't a bad average is it?

Thanks for looking that up however it makes no sense in the context of the discussion, LR have many dealerships too in city areas.

But yeah they obviously need a lot of dealers to keep up the stock of alternators, injectors and starters Won’t be retro... haha.

These where just a few regional areas I found on google with full LR service and sales.

The claim was made that LR dont have any non city dealerships, I put up a few I found mostly in small towns of OZ (even tassie has 2), with NRMA and as discussed (overnight shipping to most areas of OZ) they would more than keep you going.

Times are a changin bud, back in the horse and carriage days Toyota may have been the only regional dealerships and dealers had to be on every corner to keep you going.

Manufacturers aren't silly, the dealers are positioned where the number of sales are.
And volume of sales denotes the number of dealers.

Toyota,as an example have a massive sales volume,a huge range of vehicles in all classes, and target their vehicles in all areas of the country.

LR,as a comparison, have a small volume of sales.Their new vehicles are basically in a very small class, and not targeted in regional areas.

Its really like comparing apples and oranges.
