One of those pics looked like a dual cab ute with a box in the back. It seemed different to the others.
Thats their aim,to keep you guessing.
Its all smoke and mirrors
If its a dual cab,the rear is way too small to be practical. So if they have a dual cab,we haven't seen it yet,i am guessing.
There are quite a few dual cab utes, and even some LC,Prado,Paj models that can be fitted with,or run, 17" rims as standard.

SubscriberOne of those cars has a spare on the back that's an entirely different size and style to the wheels actually on the car. The low profile ones look like 20s, the spare wheel looks like an 18. The tyre on the back is a Continental Crosscontact and a quick google shows that they come in sizes 15 inch to 19 inch, so unfortunately that doesn't help much!

Some good points with the rims however we are seeing a trend in bigger rim sizes for safety, its about getting the balance right.
New patrol runs 20s from factory seems to do quite fine offroad with the right rubber.
If it did have a dual cab option it could very well be in the wheelbase we see in pilots, just like the old one (see pic), very little difference.
Agree a 130 dual cab would give a longer tray however many still bought the 110 dual cap(one of my personal fav fenders), however if you do a longer tray you end up with a terrible departure angle like most other dual cabs(25-27degrees) compared to the predicted new defenders angles, or a much worse ramp over.
So it all depends on how much offroad ability means to you. Do you need a work truck to get your gear to a worksite or a 4x4 with great capability, approach, ramp and departure angles, hopefully they cater for both, but it looks at this stage the are just looking at 4x4 capability first.
Smoke and mirrors, 100% I don't think anyone disagrees with that, i just don't understand what's going on with the rear door and where the seat will be inside. Guna be interesting when revealed.
Saw online somewhere Gerry M said release is "imminent".

The ring vids keep coming
Good to see how much endurance and safety testing they are putting it through.

SubscriberYep I must admit I have only seen the current shape Patrol with 18inch. Smaller rim the better of course but LR are going for looks and braking over off-road practicality. They can design the brakes smaller too and still be as powerful and fade free as the current brakes but that adds to the cost.
Cheers
