I don't think the new defenders capability as a tug has been spoken about?
Will it good enough for the nomads....btw , theyr'e not all grey anymore...or will it be priced out of contention?

That's where it will probably sell (although 90% of Grey Nomads don't like LR[emoji16]). Price wise it will probably compare to the 200 series Land Cruiser. Perhaps it was the 200 that JLR are looking to match?Quote:

Which wasn't very many .... in March 2017 they sold just 1 Defender in Australia. It's hard to find figures, but it looks like total annual Defender sales around 2016 - before the rush to buy the last ones began - were under 700 per year. But the sales of just Evoques in March 2017 were 478. That's a very big difference.Quote:

I read this quote from the Aussie Manager in the article ;
....Cameron told 4X4 Australia this week, suggesting the British off-road specialist planned to grow Defender volumes by more than 400 per cent from its record highs in the twilight of its life.
That he is suggesting a 400% increase on Australian sales at end of defender which were 86 units a month. Ie sales target of 350 month. BUT as it is pure marketing spin you are probably right, he was probably quoting a worldwide sales target of 400% over end of run defender which numbers are whatever you have quoted?
I still don’t think his version of taking it to Toyota and reality align...

Well I do a bit of long distance and outback driving and I have not seen one pulling a van yet. Incredible. In fact I haven't seen a newer Discovery than a D4 out in the bush. I did not see a Land Rover product out around the floodwaters a few months ago.Quote:

Marketing is marketing, i actually think his comments on reliability where honest, took ownership of past realities and addressed how they are now different and how they will prove it. I pay this comment, the unprecidented extensive testing seems to back this up.
