I think the big takeaway from the rear suspension shots is the sway bar, i think the subframed modern LR's usually have a active sway bar, hydraulic from memory, this doesn't have that, I'm guessing this is why it bodyrolled so much at the Ring.

So it seems they may be trying to keep it simple.

I thought the only active swaybar on a full size Land Rover was on Discovery 2 as an option (ie ACE ..very good system but expensive and they handled well without and very few people signed on) and D2 of course was body (semi mono) on chassis rails. I understood that all D3 and 4 with air suspension had no hydraulic (active) sway bar?

    Cheers

Not sure about those, but it looks like the newer LR's have active front/rear but not defender rear by the looks, or maybe option?

A full active or a Kinetic style ARB system is the ultimate anti roll set up.
Land Cruisers and Prados are using a Kinetic (reactive hydraulic) setup these days, it simplifies things big time over the ACE setup (No electronics, pumps or accelerometers needed) and I feel can be more effective in a wider variety of situations.
