When we ask any questions about what is happening next all I can get out of Andy is, hey Sis... Jut trust Me.... and out of Dad... Just wait and see.

Thanks Dad, Andy and the rest of the HARD WORKING crew. You are all Amazing.

Cant wait for another couple of weeks till 'Caspa' hits the humidity.

Just in time to turn her red....( from the red mud)

xx Shaz n Alfie.... and the rest of the 2 and 4 legged furry family.

Today, we managed to rust proof the underside of the tray with POR15 between rain showers.

Also installed plugs on the new rear tray lights.

Whilst testing, I found that the indicator was way too quick, because of the low resistance of the LEDS. I calculated that I would need an approx 7 ohm 20watt load in parallel with the LEDS to mimic the original setup. I found some 10 0hm 50watt - near enough and installed this and ran the indicator for about 10 minutes to checked for temperature of the resistor, which was quite hot - about 60 degrees C. So I mounted these on a heat sink - problem solved. A 5 minute job finishes up taking an hour!

Pic of the resistor on a piece of aluminium angle.

I also installed wiring for the rear mounted rearview camera.

Whilst the tray was off I serviced the fuel pump - to be continued .........

Top thread...I wish I had the time and space to modify my 130 more.

Are you using the original tray mounts on the rear cross member? I had to replace the right angle mounts that connect the tray to the rear cross member. The original mounts are made from very light weight steel. I remade mine from 5mm plate. I am also still using the light weight style so yours would weight a lot more then mine.

    Cheers

I removed the fuel pump to check the strainer. I have seen these almost blocked, causing the pump to cavitate and make a high pitched whining noise. This one was at least 50 % blocked. These strainers just clip in and are easily removed for cleaning.

The fuel is very clean - this sample was taken from the bottom of the tank

Strainers cleaned with diesel and blown out with an air gun.

The pump was given a wash with clean diesel as well

All re-installed - I should have replaced the pump seal but didn't have a new spare as this was done on the spur of the moment. We will replace it if leaks.

No i'm using the mounting on the rear crossmember, the same as where the wagon tub bolts on. I'm also connecting it to the 2 bars that run up each side of the fuel tank, aswell as a few other points. I am more worried about making it too rigid, than not enough. There will be a 3mm insertion rubber packer between the tray and all mounting points.

The total tray weight, surprisingly, is only about 200kgs (dad and i can lift it...just)

Today we completed the headboard of the tray

    tray with work in progress

Also painted the 2 roof racks, the 2 ladders, scuff plates, tray pockets and the tray itself

    Finished painting the tray

roof racks strung up so they could be painted all over in one go.

Any guesses on the 2 holes at the front of the headboard?
