thanks mate my auto teacher has some of these tools so i dont need to buy them,im trying to get him to join up here as he has a few rangies and his son does aswell a heaps good modified one
The diff adjustments are not hard to do if you follow the workshop manual and make a few special tools.
You will need to make: a peg spanner to move the adjusting nuts; machine a round bar to help measure the pinion protrusion; make a variety of press tools from bar and pipe all of which you can do in the metal shop at school.
The only special tool you will need to buy is a magnetic base and dial indicator, which are very cheap nowadays and can be used to set the front wheel bearings and time the valves in the engine as well.
PM me if you want to see some photos of the tools I made when I did mine,
Cheers Charlie

Just to alleviate the questions etc, I have seen the smurfs protective gear and it seems he is taking his safety seriously....
I get the feeling that he is ready to take on the world now he has this safety gear?.....
I have included a photo I took of him near the shed...with the safety gear on... (it hides the blueness!!)

all I could hear from inside the shed as I took this was a deep voice saying
"I AM YOUR ROVER LUKE".....
NOT SURE WHAT THAT COULD MEAN??
Digger

Tony,
What are you using for the blasting?
There are different types of material and maybe you do not have the right one?
It also helps to have a large capacity compressor tank , larger the better.
its the air behind the "force" that gets the paint off.![]()
i am using top of the range grit.yes i need a bigger tank but i wait until it builds up enough pressurebefore i sandblast
well did a bit more today got the speedo housing on the back of the gearbox and did a bit more sandblasting still heaps to go and with family and my gf coming up this weekend it is just getting pushed back further and further i am getting the ****s with it and i am about ready to.....dare i say it....buy a toyota
