chassis 99% finished.
All rust cut out. Battery bracket added.
chassis fully RUST CONVERTED.
Need to make original type front fuel tank bracket, and an opposite pattern added for later possible spare Tank.
And rear Tow hitch.
Type of bracket added using to RH outrigger, caused bad rust to out rigger. Imagine it was added to fit larger tank, sometime over the last 50 years.
Supra owner ( oldest 18yr old boyfriend ) Used my tools and shed for 3 weeks.
Self taught spray painter, great finish on his own car, needs practice and has good quality spray gear.
Jasper, want to paint the chassis. Yes. Only Answer I was expecting.
Just need a sunny, next weekend.

Painter was a no show today.
So made and fitted the RH/LH Fuel Tank (small) out riggers.
Had some 2.5mm folded, then cut from pattern from my other 'junk' chassis.

I was wondering If the earlier (small) Fuel Tank is the same as the later ones.
Would Be happy to remove LH seat and cover to fill it, or are these S1 only ????
Have the series 2 tub with LH filler fittings. But would have to cut hole in Gilberts TUB , and seat box to fit it. S2 Tank No good. Rusted Bottom
Just had a thought, maybe I could repair it !!!!
Are the LH tanks different to the RH side. would image filler in off set ???? Or Is it in the middle allowing LH or RH fitting ????

Just had a look. Tank stuffed. Someone had a go at fibre glassing at some point.

Tank out riggers finished.
Look at the S2. RH tank on both sides. One shape fits all, I guess.
Used Gilberts fuel tank, and all lines up good on both sides.

Don't Know if to fit steering dampener.
The bracket, seemed fixed on the S3, but I cut mine off the old front end, Lined it up and drilled two holes, so I can add it later If I need one.

After reading Dgd69 post, Bought for Parts, and the comments on the front cross member braces, being STD, and my Painter still not here, decided to make and add them, before painting.
I think the Chassis is now finished, of welding.

Pulled the other rearspring apart.
Bending back the Tang and one has cracked. One on the smaller spring.
Can I weld these or do I need to make a new one and try and rivet back to the spring.
Could drill out countersunk side tap out, make new Tang, pin back in, weld countersunk, then grind flat ????
Any other ideas please.
