What do you aim for when fitting bulkhead ????

The tub is fixed in place, no (or virtually no) adjustment. The door is fixed in width. The bulkhead seems to have a lot of adjustment.

To adjust it correctly you need to have the tub and the doors at least temporarily in place, and adjust so the doors fit - as you say, adjustment on the brackets, you can change washers on the big bolts at the bottom.

What John said. If u fit bulkhead first u will have lots of probs trying to align things up coz they wont fit. Rear of Tub first then front will prob need spacers too. Then fit galv side strips and bulkhead LOOSLY. Then doors. Align bulkhead so doors sit nicely and gaps are sorta even then space out the bulkhead with washers to maintain gaps and tighten everything up. Should be good. Saves a lot of swearing after and double the work. IMHO

Thanks - I forgot to mention the "galv side strips" or sill members. Strictly, you don't need to fit these to adjust the bulkhead, but it may help.

    Bul Head Fitting

    Thanks Gents.
I would have probably done the Bulk Head First.
I guess always important to ask the 'silly' questions.

Absolutely! The only silly question is the one not asked.

gday Whitehillbilly I'm using same bushes as you................. in your bush kit did you notice that front chassis bushes have no inner sleeve and bolt is a neat fit in bush so a sleeve wouldn't fit anyway

Just seems odd to me that every other bush in the kit is sleeved except the front chassis bushes.

    Yes, mine is the same.
Other, cheaper kit, has no inserts.
Price and easy of fitment, Will see which wears out first.

    Starter Solenoid

    Couple of quick questions.
1, Does the starter solenoid need to be earthed via fitting bracket ???? when bolted to the battery bracket.
2, Does the starter solenoid fit to the battery bracket, under the Oil Filled Air Cleaner, between bracket and motor with Terminal towards the front ????
    Thanks

    Front grill panel

Had front grill panel, sand blasted, and etch primed.
Cut out rusty bottom panel and replaced it with single piece.
