    Hi Tim.
    Looking great !!!!
Could you please take a measurement for me ?
What have you got between the two fuel tank mounts? Mine was cut off and I am thinking of putting one back.
Is the bracket the full height of the chassis rail.
Also what electronic dissy/parts did you fit.
    Thanks

I have a friend in Tasmania who wrights for LRO Mag did the articles on the Royal Land Rover & the one with Arthur were he compared the S1 , Jeep & Austin Champ. Not sure he would fly to WA though. Air fairs may be more than what he gets payed for the article. I will ask him.

Land Rover themselves would be interested in your build. It would fit very nicely and add interest to their "Reborn" project they are doing at the moment.

What tyres are those? They the sort of thing I'm looking for; mostly road use.

    Peter.

Edit: looked back through your thread and found a good photo. They're GOODRIDE SL369 A/T.
what size did you use? I had a look at a couple of sellers; they seem to start at 205/65 width and go up from there. I had heard anything over 185/75 would give me clearance issues...

    Hi Peter,

The tyres are 205/80 16's. (Should be the same as the stock 6.00 R16)

I stuck with this size for a number of reasons:

Looks "right" on a 88", (in my opinion anyway)
Running the ashcroft high ratio transfer kit so don't need the dia for speed
Not planning on using it as a hard core 4WD
Was cheaper for shipping the vehicle, (didn't bump it up into the next height class)

And thanks for the kind words everyone! Not sure it's magazine ready/worthy!

    Cheers,

    Edit, 80, not 18!

Mmmmm shiny, sorted out the box of swag that came back from the platers:

Wish I had started doing this earlier, don't even need to have them that clean and they, (mostly), come back good as new. It amazes me how well springs plate also.

    Cheers,

    G'day Tim,

What sort of preparation did you have to do on the bits and pieces before you sent them off to get electroplated? Also, when you dealt with the electroplater what coating did you specify?

Having been through this process once now, what approach preparation wise would you do for the next batch - since you are now a learned gent?

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
