Sick of windscreen leaking from both top edges, and still leaking after sealing the outside, dropped the roof lining in the front, just enough to get to the screen top, used roof gutter sealant all along the top, into the corners, left the D2 out in the torrential rain, no leaks. So far Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    roof rails installed

Finally got around to installing some roof rails that were kindly donated to me by "g2landyman"

probably would have been a lot easier with a 32mm hole saw but I managed to do a reasonably tidy job just using a 1/2" drill piece. bit of a mission but got it done.

    pic.

I reckon the disco just looks incomplete without them.

Also scored myself a 12000lb warn high mount winch today, 2nd hand, in need of a rebuild, should be a good little project (bit of an upgrade from the aldi one currently fitted)...now just got to work out a "nice" way to cut up my arb deluxe bar to fit it :s

Simply give me your ARB bar and I'll give you my TJM Steel winch bar and you can cut it up till your hearts content...

actually, now that I think of it, probably not. I have already modified this bar to suit my 2" body lift.

A stay of execution and slow local suppliers

With some trepidation this morning, I grabbed the 'Fluke' and measured 'Fred's' battery, --- a stay of execution for me, as the open voltage showed 12.62 volts and off I went to do the days chores.

Picked up a box of goodies that came from the UK, it's for our TD5 Defer project AlexH and myself are restoring and the freight time was well under a week from that UK supplier.
Sorry to all those local suppliers who have missed out on a order, the price, availability and delivery time just beats our local suppliers on all counts.
In the same time, are still waiting for just the reply from a couple of these locals.

    G'day Lux

High Mounts aren't that hard to fit up to an ARB bar. Just need to notch out the top plate to make it fit.
I can't be 100% sure if my old one was an ARB or not, but a quick word with rangieman (Chris) will confirm with a pic of where the cuts were made. I just used an angle grinder, took me the best part of a morning from memory, the biggest problem I had was dealing with the weight of it all when trying to put it all back together.
I think I may have some pics which I will try and send you.

perfect! this is good news (I really do like my bar)
I have the winch sitting down at the workshop, this weekend I plan on removing the aldi winch (of which I swapped for the high mount ) and may attempt a trial fit.

I will document and post pics for others who wish to attempt the same.

    Thanks!

No worries man you wouldn't happen to know anyone that wants to swap an ARB bar for a tjm bar? I like the ARB's better.
