Thread: What did you do on your Landy today?

Enlisted the BIL to help figure out why the charger in the camper trailer fridge box wasn't receiving power from the vehicle through the trailer plug, as I'm a bit klutzy on electrics. We spent an hour fiddling and tracing the power back from the trailer plug and discovered a wire disconnected under the dash which had cut the power to that pin on the trailer plug. Also found a fuse had a bad contact in the trailer fridge box. Bit embarrassed to admit we also found the battery in the trailer needed a top up. I had checked the indicator recently, but obviously misread it. All good now.
And very happy to say my fiddling with tyres with various wear patterns has finally almost eliminated the steering vibration at 100 km/h. Drove from Lismore to Maleny today and it was all good.
So that's another problem sorted before we head for the Simpson in September. Still got a list to work through though.
And have to find a solution to get The Navigator sleeping comfortably, since she has to leave her beloved camper trailer at home and swag it. Think a comfy stretcher bed might be the go.

Sent from my D1 using overweight hamsters.

Getting a load of firewood today, got almost back home and it suddenly lost power. More to the point, the throttle did not seem to do anything.

Failed to climb the last steep bit near the hows in 1st/low, so I ran back onto the level and investigated. Link between the throttle linkage and the carburetter had fallen off the linkage at the ball joint. Put it back on, but this repair must be judged as temporary!

I'll have a look tomorrow and see what I can do, but I suspect it is simply wear.

Gave my D2 an oil and filters change. Whilst under the bonnet I thought I would have a look in the injector loom plug. It was full of oil. I then removed the ECU plugs and all was dry but I guess it is only a mater of time.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Replaced the carburettor to bellcrank link on the 2a, after it came off yesterday. The spring clips are worn - does anyone know if you can get these clips?

The one I fitted is off an older 2a (one of the "rolling parts supplies" I have), and has adjustable brass ends.

Had use of my mates hoist and his assistance, removed cat and centre silencer. Got the cat out whole by removing the the crossmember with a BFG. Any how was quite surprised by the almost total lack of increased noise, going to test on Saturday with a little 1500k run. My hope that it's effectively increased the fuel tank range by about a @gallon and a half. next thing to install the chip tech intercooler !
