Mark, get some fibro (pref old school asbestos based) cut to size for each flay panel to cover and drill and bolt together using the rubber as a hinge. Then cover with rubber as discussed. Optionally also spray the fibro with underbody stone guard spray to keep it together better.

    Works great for heat.

Undid the tail lamp to top up as the gasoline gauge showed the level was showing low.
With gas available and the automatic choke tweaked, the blue flame ran nicely and to back it up, I moved the gear lever to second briefly then straight into reverse. Why?

Now you can tell me what make of car it is and about what year was it made?

Hi Arthur, Sounds like a Humber Hawk or Super Snipe with column gear change & petrol cap as the RH rear reflector?

The Humber is a nice car for it's time, but no try again.
The end of the queue for hopefuls who want the chance to buy our car , I tell them that the end is out the gate and halfway down the road.

Clue time; leather seats colored red and white.

Must go and get ready as AlexH will be here soon to work on the TD5 s/wagon.

Yeah I may just slosh around some asbestos cement, because everyone as knows old school is the best.

Or not. That's a stupid idea. I don't want to die.

    Arthur,

Not that I'm overly familiar with them, but how about a Cadillac, around 1950 or so. ?

Or the '57 Oldsmobile..... I have a vague feeling that Chev did the same thing at one stage. - Must have been a GM 'thing' of that era.

    Warm !

New clue. Was made a year behind the year of design, the next, fins were in.

Girls wear them in their hair, Men wear them around their neck.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

AlexH and I tackled the TD5 today, spending time replacing the o-ring seals in the fuel heat exchanger.
Next the axles came into question, the standard axle and flanges are had it, worn out! tried various parts from my collection and found that I actually have a set of maxi drive axles and long flanges for a Salisbury diff !
We are going to be on the lookout for a new set of rear axles and flanges now.

More discussion about the what extent of remedial work of the interior is required, having one lot of quotes for parts we thinking that more quotes are needed to get a fair picture of the most cost effective way to purchase the parts needed.

50s or early 60s Vette with the Blue flame six and an auto. Probably a two tone red and white one?

GM stuf, 57 cheve caddy or buick

With gas available and the automatic choke tweaked,

electric auto choke was avalable for the blue flame from 57 as an option i think

the blue flame ran nicely and to back it up,
    Blueflame confurms GM stuff

I moved the gear lever to second briefly then straight into reverse. Why?

Dynam flow, becouse thay relyed on the touqure converter, you needed to fill it full of oil first, so that makes it a buick

    .
thats all i can think of, mabe, its been a few years
