Finished fab'ing the cradle and now have the winch installed just 2 more holes to drill on the mount plate as to finalize the winch foot hold.
Going to wire it up tonight after work.
When I get home I will upload some pic's
I love this feeling of being so close to completion.
Once completed I will take it all out and do what I do best and sandblast and do a 3 coat system with some industrial paint (7yr spec)
Fun day today. With the able assistance of Bob10 I managed to break off the turbo shroud of the mighty Td5. The bolt holding it to the turbo had been rounded at some stage. So now I know the #5 exhaust is leaking. With a bit of torqing up we managed to reduce the leak considerably but not entirely. Joy. But earlier in the week I also found a pin hole in the waste gate hole. Easy fix . So now got to cobble funds and decide either DIY and risk breaking more things and being without a car or pay ? Either way no idea when I am working or not as I am a on call casual.
Took off the standard d3 tow hitch receiver and fitted an offroad Mitchell Bros hitch receiver. New spare wheel wheel winch is on and tyre is up where its meant to be... Works great!
Finally got a P3 brake controller fitted to Charlie. Plugged in to van and all looks ok. Real test will be in a couple of weeks when I head to boddington with van in tow.
I dismantled the Solex carburettor off my S2A Bloodbox, with a little help from BlKnight, he identified what could have been causing the issue of it not wanting to idle, anyway all taken down cleaned in thinners and back on the engine in under 4 hours, I suppose that's not a bad time for a Reg/nse, probably get fired if I was a mechanic LOL.
it runs but the idle is still a little awkward, maybe I didn't get the mixture screw back in the right spot.
Also did a little more on my S1, sanding back the rad/supp panel and giving it a dusting of etch primer
anyway that was my day, cheers Dennis
