Anyone after some schedule160 to make sleeves for for a 110 housing. Looks like may have to buy a full 6m length of it😕

Also has anyone measured the ID of a 110 axle tube? Or can anyone who has one apart. Must be a 110 with 5.6mm axle tube

Ok i have measured mine and re read this thread, approx 68mm which is close enough for my next question.
I have access to a bit of hollow bore i can use, it measures at 66.4mm od and 44mm id.
Now if this was placed in the axle tubes, centred, then welded either end, would this be ok?
Tube od to axle tube id difference of .8mm, not a press or push fit, but surely it would be ok?
Pipe id is smaller than i would like but hey, so far it is my easiest option.
    Opinions? ?

My structural mechanics is a bit rusty (we need Bush65 back for this), but I can't see it helping a huge amount as it will only be welded at each end (?). The failures I have seen are near the plug welds, which will remain largely untouched.
Of course if the overall beam is stiffer and then flexes less as a result that should increase fatigue life.
So I guess I am saying IMHO it will be better than nothing but not as good as a single thick tube.

Welded at each end of each axle tube, so where the spindle bolts on at the end and in the diff housing behind the carrier bearing, so passed the plug weld.
Single thick tube??, as in remove axle tubes and install new thicker ones?

That would be the ultimate fix Damien. Finding someone who is competent and prepared to drill out the plug welds and remove/reweld all the brackets at an acceptable price would probably be the hardest bit.

That's why laminating would be so much easier, for me to do
