    By the look of the Instruction Manual, Banjo, I would say the camera dates back to the late 80's maybe early 90's.

    Yeah its a good camera its just a shame you can't convert them to digital. Have to buy a whole new camera body..

    They were very good cameras and I am willing to bet that, if it is mechanically sound, it'll still do the goods for you.

    I used to have a 1000N and bought it over to OZ with me when I migrated. Couple of years later I gave it to a friends daughter as she needed a film camera for her photography studies at uni. You would think I had given her the holy grail - her parents shouted me meals and the like - and gave me their camper trailer!

    Back home I used to use it for all sorts of photography - but primarily motor racing.

    I am thinking I bought mine around 1992 or 1993 or so.

    That is the reason I went with Canon digital bodies - because of all the lenses I had back then for the Canon film camera.

    Yeah it works great i just need new batteries & a film . still all clean inside its my first real camera so i look after it ...

    That would be about right, the Canon 1000N replaced the 500N so that would place Banjo's camera as about 1988/89 vintage!!!
