passenger side i had to remove the shock tower to get the new spring in, drivers side was ok leaving shock in.
Thanks for the clarification. There is a Rovers North vid on youtube that shows them using that method.

The Dobinsons coils turned up yesterday and I finally got Paddocks to send the shocks. They were supposed to ship on friday but Paddocks staff "missed" the paypal notifcation which included order number for the payment I sent for shipping. It's taken just under two weeks from ordering to shipping, which is kind of annoying when I was told they were packed and ready to ship last Wednesday. Oh well, I should a 3-4 days of afterwork time to fit the shocks and coils before we leave on a two week trip...

Changed the diff and TC oil yesterday before rain stopped play. Picking up a replacement long filter retaining bolt for the auto today so will be able to tackle the rounded out torx screw tomorrow.

    On the todo list:
    - Fluid change diffs, transfer case
    - Oil and filter change Td5
    - Fluid change power steering and ACE
    - extract stuffed torx screw, replace filter and do second fluid change on Auto.
    - Fit new dobinsons springs and koni heavy track shocks

    cheers
    Paul

Finally got approval for insurance funding of replacement winch and auto. Yay. Now the wait for the money to be transferred and then pay for it all then wait for shipping.

Also ordered new ECU to suit the 4.6 from Mark Adams.

Fitted the new rear shockers yesterday.
Left side went smoothly, right side was a different matter.
One foot on the 18" stilsons to hold the recalcitrant thing still, left foot pushing the long socket bar. Damned socket slipped didn't it.
Ripped a nice length of bark from my left shin on the brake disc.
Did the "Indian Pain Dance" used a few choice words, had a coffee and a smoke.
Finally got the old shocker off though, and the new Gabriels are performing very nicely indeed.

OK, now to go to the next item on the list of little jobs the disco needs.

Fitted the GOE Transmission bash plate to the D4; quite a quick fit, except for time to get it lined up perfectly on both sides.
