    Great news. I really hope this story come back and bites the original dealer in the proverbial. I imagine anyone reading this story would have second thoughts about buying through them.

    At least you have found a good dealer and can enjoy the drive home. Make sure you post some pictures of the journey!

    Great to see. To be charitable, let's assume the new salesman really just didn't know about the required extras, found out, then tried to cover up by getting you to pay for the extras. Not acceptable, but it happens.

    Something is going on, based on the fact that when I decided to cancel the purchase they didn't even bat an eyelid. Either there's someone in the wings who will snap it up at a higher spec, or there was someone higher up dictating the extras.
    But that is just odd. Because other dealers aren't talking about these extras from what I've heard - just this one.

    I think it's the internet equivalent of driving by and seeing someone else's Defender being stolen. The first instinct has been to jump out and lend a hand.

    That's a great result. Glad it worked out for you.

    You'll enjoy it a lot more now when you get it and once you have your first drive this will be a distant memory.

    Yes they are the reasons i used them as well.

    After buying four vehicles new from the Brisbane dealer,over quite a few years,this dealer was like a breath of fresh air

    Absolutely fantastic,better than any dealer of any brand i have dealt with.

    Ive just read this thread from go to woah,what a sad experience.I would now take it futher with JLR Aust and seek some sort of compensation for your treatment.Try for free servicing/extended warranty to placate you.The fact that you were able to buy the same vehicle earlier from another dealer and cheaper should help your case.
    Ive only ever bought 1 new vehicle,my D4 last year.Actually bought it over the phone.The team at Southern Land Rover were extermely proffesional and a pleasure to deal with.
    JLR Aust do monitor AULRO,I hope they have a good read of this thread,mention it in your dealings with them to sort out compensation.
