    That's interesting and sounds more like how it should be. If the vehicle hasn't hit the production line then making a few changes should be feasible.
    Back in Black hey? Will look mean - like it stepped out of a Bond film.

    Unfortunately I just noticed this thread. I'm a Series 3 owner but I love the Defenders aswell. (IMHO they are the true Land Rovers Defender ordered - now dealer says deal has changed). I went to ***** LR years ago (approx. 10years) when I first looking at buying one, I was single then so I had the money to buy brand new too, and I went in to the sales floor and was waiting for about twenty minutes for someone to come and talk to me. Not one person came to talk to me, there was only two potential customers in the whole shop. I ended up leaving in disgust and thought to myself that I would never go back there again and I never will.

    I'm glad you got your 110 and I hope you have plenty of adventures awaiting for you. Driving it up from Melbourne is an adventure in itself. Good on you Tombie for your assistance and also to the rest of you fine people. It's people like you that give Land Rover their great name.

    So happy for you El Rey!

    From the experience you had, I won't taking my D90 to ***** for servicing or warranty issues. Even though the service department is separate from sales, all money goes into the *****'s coffers.

    I will be interested to see how the new Springwood dealerships is? I believe it's owned by Frizelles???

    Off topic,how are the KO2's?

    After my servicing experiences at the Brisbane dealer,thanks to this site, i found out about MR auto.My vehicles have been to them for servicing/repairs since new for last 8 yrs or so,never had an issue.Half the price and twice as good.

    Yes that's right. They say that the building construction starts in October, so may take a little while to be up and running but I'll be going there too.

    I don't know Frizelles but they seem to have many brands under their banner. Hopefully they still have some LR appreciators there.

    El Rey, to further reinforce your sense of relief (and rub more salt in the wound that this thread represents to *****), make no mistake you dodged far more than a bullet...

    A few years ago ***** service failed to fix a major issue with my 110 after 12 months of repeated attempts. On one such attempt I left the 110 with them before travelling overseas in the hope they could fix it while I was away. When I returned to pick it up a few weeks later; not only did they fail to fix the fault, but they had put an extra 700km on it. The fault was an intermittent ignition issue so little or no driving was required to fault test. Apparently one of the mechanics had been using it to get to and from work to test it. Conveniently that mechanic lived 70+ kilometres from *****!

    When I saw the odometer and turned into John McEnroe, it seemed entirely inconsequential to ***** that I had not consented to my car being given to a staff member to use on his personal time. Indeed they didn't seem to think they ought to have even asked me. Their smug view was that they were doing me a favour by performing such thorough testing. Oh and the best part; when I got home I found a receipt in the Cubby Box for a dump run done while I was away. Obviously the mechanic had my 110 over the weekend and the load space of a hard top was too much to resist. Thorough real world testing indeed...

    I can rant on about *****l to anyone who gives me an opening. Having said that, if my rants save souls from their grips, they shall continue. Don't go near them El Rey.

    Lesson learned as others have said - Bruce Lynton is a far better option for warranty work and usually let me swap my Defender for a Range Rover for the day. The drive back on the M1 was always much more bearable in a Rangie. Then for service, MR Automotive at Redcliff are entirely worth the logistical nightmare.
