Yes a D2 is not a race car but quite a few remap their cars , run bigger tyres , better turbos
Sorry mate, wasn’t meant to offend anyone. Was actually referring to my car. I run drilled/slotted front and back. Wouldn’t go back. Makes me laugh to think of my truck as a racecar. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
    .............

T/C is? Traction Control? Torque Converter?

    H/D is?

Yep I'm a noob, but I can go where a Triton got stuck!! twice. (I think it is the car more than the driver ) I've not had Daisy for 3 years yet.

Well, today I fitted the new SLS air filter, and new discs/pads on the front of Bluey. (Non-drilled, non-slotted!)
Tomorrow I'm hoping to attack the diffs/gearboxes with new fluids, and pull out the front driveshaft to rebuild the double cardan joint with some greasable unis.

Yes a D2 is not a race car but quite a few remap their cars , run bigger tyres , better turbos , run extra weight with accessories or tow, put bigger motors in ect .

Yes i run slotted front and back , Reasons for me majorly are as follows as has mostly been stated previously ,

    Better Feel ,

    Better gas dispensation ,

    Cleaning the rotors ,

Reduced brake fade in overheating ,

Yes the T/C feels better in my opinion ,

Yes the H/D feels better in my opinion,

Am i happy with my choice yes ,

Would i do it to the next car yes ,

Do i feel the benefit out ways the cost yes ,

My car run`s heavier than standard due a lot of accessories , i have performance mods and i tow on and off road , I run bigger tyres , Extra fuel capacity .

Do i like the look well i don`t take any notice of the look of my brakes or anyone else`s for that.

It is simple don`t knock some one else`s choice for up grading for their personal choice or reasons .

If you don`t want to upgrade and are happy with your set up that is fine no one is knocking you for that .

I made my choice for my personal reasons and circumstances pretty simple in my book.
I understand the bigger tyre deal and others. My point was that the D2 stops on a dime as standard. Much better than most if not all 4wds of the same era. Seems a bit overkill for slotted discs on a standard bus.

Also I wasn't hanging **** on another person's POV. Just interested to see if others with them think it's worth it. Didn't want to get into a ****ing contest.

I'll stick with my standard pads and discs. I think it stops fine. But I have close to standard wheel sizes.

Spent a pleasant afternoon (3hrs) replacing the starter motor and fitting replacement contacts in the solenoid of the spare. I will feel better after a beer!

Did you have a wobble bar handy?

    Makes the task easy.
