Mutually with bloke in trayback ute backed into each other in Erina Fair carpark.

He had no damage but the tray caught the bottom of the spare and bent the interior bracing.

So got home and tied a winch extension strap to a tree and pulled it out . It needed a few pulls but looks pretty much correct. I think it was bent a little prior to that from yet another reversing glitch.

Unfortunately the plastic bumper cover has a 150MM bit out of it. Who would make a bumper out of fragile plastic I ask you?
    Regards Philip A

    Over the weekend

The car went to Mt Skene. Couldn't get to the summit as some Jeep Wanglers got very stuck. They drove past our snow covered camping area at about 2130 (9:30pm)
The car started first time the next morning, no issues at all. A couple of the other D2s struggled to start. Overnight the temp was -1C20180805_083238.jpg The Aldi trax were used to help a D4 in our group. Or lowering the tyres from 40psi to 20 did the trick. Yes the chains are on the wrong tyres.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Theoretically, never, but the tensioners can wear/loosen/weaken over time in most chain driven valvetrains setups. Think 500K+ lifetime type thing. Usually you hear noises, and mechanics tell 'ya your timing chain is noisy, and you arrange to get it fixed.

If you haven't checked the oil pump bolt, that's about the only item that should really be checked, and/or made sure it's loctited on properly and stuff like that.

The same company who put the TD5 oil filter in a place where it’s almost impossible to get your hands in to change it!

It’s on the list, but I need the main rear seal done so rather than swear at the sump in my driveway I was going to get it done at the same time. Thanks.
