Found the cause of the oil leak..one torque converter mounting point has sheared off some time ago judging by the rusty surfaces. This has also taken out the seal and the bronze bush.
I've contacted Ashcroft so we'll see what they say about replacing the torque converter, seal and bush.
Wish me luck☺
On Saturday it was 42.6C in town (hotter inland) when I drove to Port Gregory with the boat in tow.
I sat on 90kph ant the highest the coolant temp got was 104c, The differance this time was it wasnt 40c+ inside the D2a because i was running the aircon
I dont know if it is the new 82c thermostat or the grill mod that has made the differance ( maybe a combination of both) But the truck is now running a LOT cooler than it did on the trip back from the Gulf of Carpinteria![]()

Well Ashcroft gave me the kiss off saying that the failure of their torque converter is very common.
So why do they sell them or not at least advise customers of the common failure rate?
Despite this advice they offered to supply another at full cost plus freight etc to which I politely declined.
Be warned🙄
