We all know I'll be very practical and go the 265/70-16 route, but geez the 18's look good.

But it we all know you are secretly lusting over 275-285 /70/ 18’s or 285/75R18 so side wall height won’t be a issue 😈😉.

    cheers Chris 🍻🍻

New stereo bargain Alpine iLX-F309E Halo 9 9”

Paid for my new stereo today.

I had had been wanting to do a double din conversion since my original stacker died until I seen the Alpine iLX-F309E Halo 9 9” come out.

I then saw Andrew’s installation on his project from Les Richmond Automotive which only confirmed I had to have it.🤔

Picked up a bargain today 😈recommended retail is around $1295. Scored for $795. 👍

Can’t wait for the unit to arrive so I can fit it up. No dash cutting required 😆😎🤗

    Cheers, Chris

Don't be silly, then I'd need a set of Ashcroft 4:11 HD centres, pegged and lockered up, TW driveshafts front and back, CDL and ATB in the t/case, and the motor fitted with a VNT, big IC, chipped.
Oh, and HD drive plate, big TC and bigger trans cooler and whatever HP24 guts we can jam in the 22 case.
Then I can fit some 285/70-18's! What happened to your Discovery 2 today? What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Depends how fast you want to go round corners, Pedro. Both our cars have all the Land Rover acronyms to control uppy downy, roundy corners, brake locky, the list goes on, but neither have an acronym to stop centrifugal forces acting on all the crap in the back.

With the 265/60's you will gain width but loose sidewal height, There is a big difference between a 60 and 70 profile.

Actually near enough as damn it the same sidewall height between a 265/60-18 and a 235/70-16.
    It's all about aspect ratio.

A 265/70-16 will act as a better air spring than either, and conform better when aired down in the rough stuff.
It just deforms more on road, but for the most part no one will ever notice the difference. Unless you are a little crazy behind the wheel.
And it will give a better ride than the 18" rim, thanks to a better (lower) spring rate. (more volume)

Rick if you like beach driving and mud the narrow tall tyre is best. I also experienced tram tracking with 265's on my d2 but 245/75/16 is a great off-road tyre and if you have seen my grey d2 getting around it corners well enough...good springs and shocks helps.

    Cheers
