And strangely enough, when I was still involved, the type of electricity that we used didn't give stuff whether the cable was flat or round!
It has NOTHING to do with air cons or refrigeration, especially in the power circuits. It is also very doubtful if the control circuits are likely to be affected by induction, and if they are the colour of the cable sheath is NOT going to stop it! If in particular installations induction is a problem then use shielded cable as Rick has posted.
I think that this may have been dreamt up by the same idiot that refers to automotive wiring cables as B&S, and then adds two different figures for the same cable in sq'mm just because the insulation has a higher temperature rating!
