bat - cat - man

The genetic information of cov-SARS-2 (according to papers I have seen summaries of), shows it is very closely related to a coronavirus endemic in bats in the Wuhan area, but not quite close enough to be a direct transfer from bat to human - it would have had to have been transferred to another species first, and from that species to humans. The pangolin has been suggested as the intermediary, but I have seen no evidence to confirm this, and as far as I can tell this would only be a guess until the virus or one very close to it is isolated from another species. In view of the number of possible species, this is not likely to happen soon, and I doubt it is an area of urgent research.

Not sure of the scientific aspects however initially testing found 99% genetic correlation of CoVid19 in the Pangolins in the market and human Covid19 - however apparently with broader tests that test not only the genetics but other markers, there is a much lower correlation so maybe the intermediary was not the pangolin - the scientists do agree the original host was a bat but they are not sure if direct transmission could occur without an intermediary.
They are still researching this.

I think they're a business like any other, & if they qualify "within the rules", nothing more, nothing less, then they, like other businesses deserve assistance.
I think most of them will have spoken to their financiers by now. I've no inside info, but most people would know that most of the cars on a Dealer's lot don't belong to them, they belong to their financier, and with the drop in retail new & used cars creating a decreased amount of retail finance directed to their financier, the interest on their floor plan/dealer loans etc would be crippling.
