    small update

1 couldn't wait just had to install the seat base, love how its coming along, fitted black blanking plate opp side to handbrake
2 another shot of the seat base, i did run out of bolts though, so back to bunnings to help out
3 turn buckles and these three little suckers (think these are to hold the seat bases down), put a screw through it and then on the cordless screwdriver and held sandpaper to it to clean up, worked a treat, did it in black colour, more bolts needed to secure

    paint update

1 raw state of one of the lids, the best one i have untouched
2 underside sanded ready for paint
3 top side sanded ready for paint
4 underside painted in black, easier to apply and quicker for my set up

sadly the other two lids have tears in them, so will need to see what i can do with them although they are under the seats. also been planning some seat bases as i have none

    Hi shamirj,

The circular brackets on the front of the seat base - I attached mine via pop rivets.. I'm not sure if that's how it was done at the factory - I have seen other people use nuts/bolts.

    Cheers,
    GG.

    update

pretty sure the circular brackets were bolted not riveted, will chase down some screws/nut

1 seat base lid one painted green on top ready to be installed
2 seat base lid two underside painted black, thought to look at the next LR Expo to seek some newer seat base lids if available 2nd hand and in better condition then mine
3 is this the choke cable in the wrong position on a spare panel i had
4 another view, have undone the nut both sides and have tried twisting unscrewing the choke handle but will not budge, is it pushed on or screwed in??? how do i dismantle to clean and paint???

    update

1 other seat base top painted ready for install, realised i am missing the centre panel which is just a square flat alum which i will prob buy new paint and fix, pretty easy i think, not sure of the thickness of alum 2-3mm, will need to measure the other panels i have

2 p/side done and fitted, looks good to me

3 fuel pump panel had an addition fitted, no idea what this is for, some wiring for something??? missing the top and couldn't find suitable screws so just riveted it on. someone explain what this is please

4 alum radiator panel, looking for which to use, other is metal???

5 p/side door ready to paint, put aside for painting

6 other rad panel in steel, which is the more correct to use, metal or alum??? why the difference or when did they change over?

    update

1 floor panels, realised the one i have prepared is just the centre panel suitable for later model series, i think all series ones have the full piece panel incl centre panel and the two sides, so wasted effort on my part, here are the two to pick from

2 high low shifter panel painted in black ready for install

3 underside of panel prepared for paint (black) to be painted, picked the better of the two i had

    4 underside painted drying

    update

1 while waiting for the paint to dry started on the seat bases out of wood making up the frame
2 the ends of the wood needed to be sanded to slot into the groove of the seat base alum frame
3 seat one base done p/side with added bracing wood on top, bottoms are free so easy to get your hand between the seat and panel below to pull out seat
4 two seat bases complete ran out of wood will need more wood to complete the third
5 into position for now two out of three complete
