had my first on the move flat tyre today (usually they conveniently deflate overnight and I get to change them in the comfort of my own drive way).
This bloody thing nearly put me off the road. I thought something in my steering had given way, moved on cautiously to complete the corner (was only one corner away from work carpark). But then saw it was the a rear tyre... so left the blighter there and went in to work (was short staffed today), and changed it in the rain afterwards. But I'll be damned if I can find anything in it - most my tyre issues have had associated bling in them (generally tek screws) but I have no idea what has made this happen... no visible sign of damage apart from one square edge on an otherwise round item. They've still gota bit of wear left going by the wear strip thingo but they'd be a fair age (were on the car when I bought it 2 yrs ago).
I'd just been thinking this morning about the lady whos car rolled somewhere near here when one of her tyres blew lol...
Finished installing a P38 AT cooler complete with lifesaver fittings from Pirtek, followed by filter kit and fluid change, all seems to be working well.
Recently lagged the front part of the exhaust pipe of the Puma ready for an upcoming trip where lots of spear grass and spinifex will collect underneath.
Also had the wheel bearings repacked so we're ready to rumble......

New pistons and seals on the right front of the 130. No more brake fluid everywhere and no more pulling to the left under heavy braking. Popped in some new pads on both sides as well just to be sure as the right pads were soaked in brake fluid.
Found and fixed what is hopefully the last oil leak as well.
Yesterday: replaced the bonnet hinge bolts, wing vent screws and headlight surround screws with stainless items from ebay. £7 from the UK. Look a lot better and are much easier to undo for maintenance. Almost all of the bizare assortment of screws replaced had stripped heads.
The kit also included grille screws which I will save for when the bull bar is eventually replaced.
Today: finally finished the last major part if my LED position light replacement project on the County. Replaced the wing indicator repeaters with units from Super****e Auto. They were cheap enough that i won't cry when my mum inevitably smashes one on a fence post.
I also copied the indicator dash light fix that a few others have used for splitting the left and right side indicator circuits to prevent both sides flashing together. The trailer attached indicator lamp is now the left turn signal lamp. That functionality won't be missed. It didn't even have a bulb in it before.
No so much a day, more a weekend.
After a trip up to Mildura last weekend where we did about 1,500km I turned right out of the street on Tueday to hear the telltale clattering of a dying CV. So over the weekend I replaced both, rebuilt the swivel housings (new bearings). While I was at it I rebushed the front end with a Super Pro kit I bought on here a while back. It drives beautifully now and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
Chip tech intercooler and silicon heavy duty hoses went in today. :D hope that I get a little more economy we shall see. Took for a test drive although short certainly runs cooler.:D
Went to the County to escort my son & his wife and two kids across the creek - and found the LH back tyre flat on the bottom. So used the 2a instead. After I got back changed the wheel and put it in the back to take to town on Tuesday.
