...well you have certainly made me feel like my day was a breeze by comparison!
When undoing the blanking plate bolts I was prepared for something similar (as I always am with undoing any manifold bolts) thankfully they came out nicely.
I haven't got around to wiring mine up as planned tonight, I look forward to testing it all out tomorrow

I was close too, persevered though.

finished off the EGT install. not as good as my TM2 install but im still pretty happy with it.

used the factory blank swich unit, removed the switches and cut a piece of alloy flat plate then popped in the digital EGT

I used mine to practice the manly (according to Stevo68) art of trailer reversing.

Well! it was not the head gasket on 'Daisy'.
Coolant was making a mess around the top of the expansion tank, fearing the worst but not believing that the head gasket was leaking , I opted to do the cheapest thing first and replace the expansion tank cap.

Since then have done well over a thousand K's and not a drop of coolant has escaped, repeat - not a drop !

Relief !
