Fitted twin, matching over head gauges. Top R 380 temp lower engine.
Why? Cause it freezing cold and pouring rain, at $12.00 each why not and finally cuz I can :-)

Fitted replacement box and transfer into the Defender. Just have to finish replacing all the bolts and studs, handbrake cable, replacement speedo cable, reverse switch, fit the breather kit and hook up & reverse bleed the clutch system then that's that job done.
Also removed the sump and properly sealed it. Last time I did it, while I was careful with cleaning surfaces I 1) did not use enough RTV 2) did not wait long enough until torquing down 3) did not use the torque pattern in the manual 4) filled oil & ran the vehicle the same day so it was ****ing oil out the back. Here's hoping doing it properly this time solves that problem!
Also diagnosed an DOA Eaton no spin locker from a supplier in the US. The box arrived more round than square with jingling inside. Uncompressing the center revealed some shrapnel (more in there) and the center itself is crooked. This is damn painful and hard to swallow... If I have any more problems with postal services I'm going to go postal myself!
George scored a new starting battery, after failing to start after only being parked for six days. It was the second time in a fortnight the battery had let me down. Off to Repco and got 10% off for RACQ members. Old battery will go on the charger for a few weeks to see if it can be revived.
Sent from my D1 using overweight hamsters.
Some hydraulic work in a busy little spot![]()
Hooked up my oil pressure switch to my Madman gauge so I have an audible oil pressure alarm.
Happy Days.
Finally getting around to replacing the rear output flange that simply fell off the back of the transfer case on my D2. Cleaned up the burred thread with a M20x2.5 die, tomorrow should be putting the new output flange on, oil in, tail shaft on, we're back and running!
Oh, and charging the battery. Over a month on the sidelines hasn't done much for the battery life...
Ben.
