check plugs
check pistons with bore cam
I removed old small hub water pump from the s3 186. Fitted larger hub style pump and pulley. Fitted aftermarket 5 blade flex fan (steel one this time) and just waiting for call from radiator place now to pick up radiator. Had to get outlets changed around to suit 186. They just called. Price was $80. Price now is $180. Seems the outlets are silver soldered in on the new rad. They have to remove both top and bottom tanks so they can remove the outlets as they meed more heat and dont want to damage the new rad. He said at least the tanks and outlets will be better now as when they make the new rad they use very minimal solder as they are soldered on by robot. Bloody britshyte parts. Any way thats my day so far. Will have to put the sandblasting off now for the s2a chassis. Not enough $$$. Bugga.
Cheers Rod

fitted up my steering wheel stereo remote and PAC controller in the D2. No more hunting for the fob remotewhich always seems to be just out of reach!
replaced the alloy plugs in the head of the lwb 2a. Reamed and fitted brass, That will stop the corrosion shenanigans!!Now the clutch M/C has died! In tandem with the brake M/C on the 88"
Am sure they are in cahoots!
Cheers Scott
... Very hot day Tuesday... went to smell the flowers...and instead got the pong of leaking glycol coolant...
My fault, last changed the top hose around 5 years ago, when I did the bottom one and overflow tank.
When we got home, it was blowing water and steam directly onto and all over the distributor cap... surprisingly, it did'nt miss a beat.
This hose is, or was, a cut-down from a suitable (?) one I found at Super whatsis, from a Holden v8 of ? model and ? year. Anyway, a new one has been ordered, and Sarah will just have to wait...
Motor ready to drop into the 2A tomorrow.
Cheers, Mick
