I will check engine breather soon.

I had a look at the turbo and it seems to be not as bad as i thought and there was only a little oil in intercooler which leads to the breather.

British and european motor works just changed my timing belt and done a great job at a great price however a oil seal has not seated properly but he is going to fix it up. Just wanted to recomend them.

The steeltreks are a great tyre however i dont think i will get them again as they are a little too noisy expecially now when they are low on life.

PS: two tyres are no good as i thought you need 4 tyres of the exact same rolling dia ona permanent 4wd. for everday use anyway.

it has done 200k which is usual turbo and injector conditioning time i think
First of all, sorry Simon, i forgot to get back to you after doing my timing belt.

I have been told injectors need doing at around 200000k, but not turbos, they should last longer than this.

Second, i have seen a new turbo being sold by someone in the LROC magazines, i think it was around the $2000 mark, they are a fare bit more than this new from a parts dealer. I am not sure about the rebuild costs to have bearings etc done, when you find out i would be interested.
Ace, use fuel doctor in your fuel. When I traded my 300tdi in it had 280000km on the clock on the original injectors and did not blow smoke (Unless towing under load), still got 10kpl and still had heaps of power(for a Tdi).

good point about all four tyres being the same diameter, i assumed olympic steeltrek's 7.50 x 16 had the same rolling diameter as the 235/85/16 bfg at's that i have fitted and have done all the rolling, have not had a flat yet. just did a quick measure 'in the dark', the bgf's are a bit over 31inch and the steeltrek's are a bit under therefore i should have any problems considering on most vehicles the spare normally has more tread on it. i'm guessing the running gear can account for the differance in tyres with full tread and ones that are at the end of there life??? I have never rotated the spare, always left them as new, after the flat is repaired i put it back on the car and remove the spare.

Thats right, tyres of the same type shouldnt be a problem if the back ones are worn more than the front for example, but make sure the tyres on the same diff (i.e the front or rear) are worn the same. But keep the tyres the same type and make sure the tyres had the same rolling diameter when new. Matt

Will they fit a TD5? Full boost at 1400 rpm would be great.
