    With the help of my local 4wd shop we are going to have a crack at rebuilding the box.

    this happened to the Stage 1 twice. the second time i rebuilt the diff myself

    both times it was the front diff that went and i was able to drive by locking the centre diff. as you have no drive with it locked, i'm thinking that this is where you should start looking. best of luck

    what I should have said Is..

    I have never personally heard the output shaft go bang but have had 2 do the grindy death thing.

    I just want to thank everyone who offered advice and especially the few who offered help either with rebuilding it or offering parts it is greatly appreciated...Theres some really great people on this site!

    As for the rebuild TransferCase is out and will be stripped down tomorrow ready for some new bearings then i'll move onto the box....wont be rushing things so hopefully its up and running by xmas
