My shift points all seem to be OK, maybe 2nd to 3rd could be at 5km/hr lower (around 37-38km/hr) but I'd prefer to have the TC lockup around 6-8km/hr lower than it does now.
Checked my upshift to 4th while I was out this morning. With a medium throttle on a slightly undulating road the auto was upshifting to 4th at around 60km/h with a stock TC.

If you have a nanocom or other diagnostic tool that can give live readings of the Auto ECU solenoid valve 1 and 2 indicate the current gear the ECU has selected. Solenoid valve 1 status changes from ON to OFF when the transmission shifts to 4th, so it's fairly easy to monitor on a Nanocom One. Solenoid Valve 3 indicates the status of the TC lock-up clutch - On is engaged.

Good thinking mate. Once you start a new thread on shift points, post the link here. I will video my tach/speedo as I go up thru the gears so we can compare how our Discos shift.

    Vibration Problem Solved

I had the same problem with my 2003 Dicso2 TD5 Auto Facelift, vibration & resonance at about 2000 rpm including when parked.
It drove me absolutley mad & I spent hours searching various LR forums. I got all sorts of suggestions including Propshaft, Engine Mounts, Crankshaft Pulley, Torque Converter, Flywheel etc etc.
I had virtually become resigned to putting up with it when I stumbled across the cause, more or less by accident.
Turned out to be the Plastic Covers over the sills which I refitted and, hey presto, the resonance has gone.
Hard to believe that something so loud & annoying could be caused by something so simple & easy to fix

Could that part also be described as the door threshold covers? I'm not sure which part you're describing. How about a picture for us?

This is the Plastic Trim which covers the sills along the length of the car, externally front to back. Sorry, no pics.

yep, I would agree with this, this is inline with the usual feedback we get, shift points may be very slightly earlier, lock up speed will be unchanged, the converter cannot alter this, it locks when the ecu tells it to.

the big difference is the lower stall speed, ie less 'slipping', meaning it feels less 'revvy' when accelerating,

Hi all, I have read in this posting about the handbrake been the problem.......... wow wow wow wow------ Handbrake, Handbrake, Handbrake, Handbrake ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY. Had to fill with diesel so just put the handbrake on by one notch and went for a drive. NO MORE NOISE, Fixed Fixed Fixed, adjusted the hand brake by turning the 17mm nut by 5 turns CW then back CCW by 1 1/2. Handbrake now on 3 notches. Fantastic. Please please all with a rattle ADJUST HAND BRAKE. After 3 months of trying to get rid, finally an easy fix thanks to all who have posted. All the best to one and all.....
