Got a call from son to have a look at the D2 as he could smell diesel under the bonnet.
Thinking FPR but on inspection found the pipe from the head to the FPR - EU3 model - was completely undone and pouring fuel.
Thought it would be a simple job to tighten up but no! What a pain to get to buried in the inlet manifold. Fortunately I had some o-rings from a kit that fitted the connection as the existing one was broken. Biggest problem was having to make a spanner to access the nut and tighten.
Can’t imagine how this came loose. The FPR was replaced when I had the head done about 8 years ago. At least we have a spanner for any future issue.
