The sensational headline served its purpose though, it got you to read it.
The numbers quoted by the Premier during his press conference today were about 130 "unsuccessful visits" and 100 of those have been referred to Vic Pol. I suspect they won't be referring a case to the police simply because nobody answered the door, they'll be doing it because they've confirmed the person was not where they are supposed to be and apparently don't have a lawful reason to be elsewhere.

Yes it's a sensational headline, but dumb ****ers are not playing by the rules, and it's not just one or two.

Heck, I stood at my front window today watching foot / bike traffic up and down Flemington Rd, and I'd estimate 10% of pedestrians and cyclists were not wearing masks. Then again, I suppose they could all be asthmatic.

I'm not condoning the behavior, but for everyone doing the wrong thing according to Trout, there will be a different excuse, reason, cause or justification, some legitimate other not. I'm not arrogant or self opinionated enough to condone everyone of them out of hand.
There are authorised reason for leaving your premises whilst under quarantine. Those caught deliberately flouting the regulations deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law.
I take exception to someone from the back of beyond pontificating and arrogantly presenting his view as as the law.
Ironically, I agree with much that Trout has to say, but the debate has to be factual and respectful. Self opinionated conviction and conjecture will fail against fact.

I believe cyclists are exempt from wearing masks.

Right you are. Ok then, I'll spin my observation the other way. While I stood....blah...blah.. I'd estimate 90% of cyclists *were* wearing a mask.

Been doing a bit of a look at different State and Federal definitions of Home Iso/Quarantine rules , would appear at first glance that each State and the Federal Gov has a somewhat different view of the requirements to be observed , in the Federal & WA Home Iso/Quarantine and possibly other states have the same rules , in that you are to remain in & not permitted to leave your home or hotel room except for an emergency , where in Victoria you are allowed to leave for a variety of reasons ie you can leave home to exercise or medical appointments but must comply with Social Distancing .

This is only a first glance as it soon does your head in sifting through it , and it is shame that there is not one standard set of requirements to be met for Australia as a whole !! to spell out clearly what our obligations are . To me Home isolation/Quarantine should mean exactly that , you stay at home or hotel for 14 days and only allowed to leave for an Emergency .

Amen to your idea. Common sense is not at all common sadly

The really odd bit with exemptions for medical appointments is no Doctor wants an active Covid19 onsite and mine are most consults via phone, video or car park or home visits. We may have had an appointment made from a declared hot spot which we are almost certain was to be used as as an excuse to got shopping at a large Westfields place. I may have changed it to a phone consult. It was a script request only!!!

Asking Gov at 3 levels for several things frequently for years and especially recently .
    1. Do not tell people to see your doctor for a free flu vaccine (unless the free flu vaccines have been delivered and available Every year thousands of phone calls wasting our time (Millions nationally) I have been known to put a government phone number on my phone system to call to ask as revenge but feel sorry for the clients and call center staff mostly
    2. Provide mask to us to give to pensioners and similar before telling them to see your GP for the 2 million free masks you are providing.....When was that again- we have seen Zero from the Government and have no communication at all (VIC only)
    3. Stop silly non key people making silly and confusing statements to the media to big note themselves.

I will consider bets SEE YOUR GP for a covid19 vaccine will be headlines when they are created. It will occur well before your GP has them will be front page quote of a state or federal minister or back bench LOOK AT MOI person.

Clearly item 3 relating to loud mouth yarps is impossible sadly
