Novovax is not approved anywhere yet, apparently because they have been unable to meet the requirements for consistent quality control of manufacture.
Never heard about as there was nothing to tell the public….so I’ve just learnt from an expect that presented to our company (APAC wide). This 1hr presentation was very informative.
Aus early on ordered 51,000,000 novavax as part of our strategy however the company couldn’t expand quick enough and had no data to back up there product.
They only just lodged their application with Aus a couple of weeks ago……that’s how organized they are![]()
The Aus government won’t be ordering any this year and probably next year as the primary roll out.
Aus have secured enough registered vaccines up to amd including the booster jab.
Novovax is not approved anywhere yet, apparently because they have been unable to meet the requirements for consistent quality control of manufacture.

Experts from Singapore, Canada, the UK and US give Australia some living with COVID advice. Many countries are well ahead of Australia in living with COVID. Some have been doing so for six months or more. Consequently, they believe they are in a position to pass on advice which can assist countries like Australia that are beginning the living with COVID phase. In a nutshell , some advice stands out, such as;
The UK, daily case numbers 40,000, weekly deaths 1,000. " A huge mistake to come out of lockdown with the 66% vaccine rate. Vaccinate children & teenagers ASAP. Lots of transmission in UK schools right now. " " The removal of mask mandates and not vaccinating teenagers before they returned to school were the two main ' mistakes ' the UK made.
The USA, cases on a 7 day moving average 83,000, average of 1,100 deaths per day. Advice for Australia was simple " Don't think vaccines will make the virus disappear. You will likely have a good summer because of fresh immunity and seasonal factors, next winter it will likely return with the most at risk the older and vulnerable people. Keep masks and rapid testing in your locker as tools against the virus. "
Canada, averaging 2,373 cases and 24 deaths per day. Best tools for the fight? " The mass use of rapid tests , not diagnostic tools, but brilliant screening tools. Novia Scotia hands them out like condoms with encouragement to self test before going out on a Friday night." " The ' sanitary pass ' or ' vaccine certificate' has worked well in Canada. Overall advice to Australia " Open everything gradually and monitor cases closely to avoid clusters expanding. Be ready to re-install stronger restrictions if necessary, and inform the population about it. "
Perhaps the most telling advice comes from Singapore. One of the highest vaccination rates in the World it is facing its steepest curve of infections and deaths in the pandemic, with a 7 day case average of 2,700 and 13 deaths per day. " Australia must prepare for a rise in infection numbers, vaccinations alone will not be sufficient." "The focus should be on hospitalisations and deaths, not case numbers. Continue monitoring and surveillance, especially for new variants. "
All sound advice, our place in this pandemic should place us in a good position to heed the advice of those who have experienced what comes now for us.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
All well and good, Bob.
We hoi polloi just have to hope that the right people pay some attention to things which may not have any relevance to 'Point Scoring'!
'sit bonum tempora volvunt'
fat chance of that
Now you tell me! I am getting another dose of it Friday
Its a "Silly old buggers" testing combined Novavax/Flu vax
I may not be as it could be water, just Novax or just flu vax??? Suspect my arm will tell me Friday/ Saturday
Locally I hope we can ship a ship load of vaccines OS or to demand locations before the UK shocker of tossing 600,000 odd in the BIN
My life is so relaxed with 30 hours+++ less stress per week now. Docs covering are demand easily now covering a significantly lower demand than what Nurses and I did ( I had the easy COUNTING+++++++++++ and record job)
That might change up just a bit as 6 month + booster/3rd dose and kids kick in Jan 2022. Fully expect that to be much easier that the last 7 month of stress and crazy hours.
Life is good! Running is better!!!![]()
Or be smart enough to sort the wheat from the chaff. Little bit of angst in the school system in NSW ATM. About 575 schools and childcare centres have closed due to Covid cases in the last month, and hundreds of students at Sydney schools are isolating after Covid exposures. To be expected among unvaccinated children, no doubt, the danger to waning immunity elderly at home is obvious. FROM the SMH;

3rd dose fo all of us and 1st and 2nd for 5 to 11 year old and one dose for 6 month to 5 year old kids in Jan might seem funny to some. The cool bit about us here in southern hemisphere is we get to see the Northern Hemisphere which is looking ugly +
BBC news "Germany is in the grip of a "dramatic" fourth Covid wave, Chancellor Angela Merkel has said on the eve of a crisis meeting with regional leaders.
Daily infections hit a new German record of 52,826 on Wednesday as European governments responded to a surge on much of the continent.
Belgium announced a series of measures in an attempt to avoid a lockdown.
"All the alarm signals are red," said Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, as he told people to limit personal contact.
"Europe's map is quickly going red, and we are the same."
Children in Belgium will have to wear masks from the age of 10, rather than the current age of 12. Working from home will become compulsory from Saturday for four days a week. Passes known as Covid Safe Tickets will be required in theatres, cinemas and museums."
Hope they stuff can come in single dose by then. Suspect not as US is still mulit dose vials![]()

The problem seems to be the vaccination rates, it is a disease of the unvaccinated, as they say. Although Singapore bucks that trend , for some reason. Said to be the most vaccinated country in the World, even they are going thru another wave. Austria is the first European country to lock down the unvaccinated, with Police patrolling the streets checking vaccine passports. The WHO has said it raises real issues of human rights. With winter approaching the North, the question is being asked, " Is the future of Covid-19 seasonal? " . That doesn't explain Singapore though. Here is the news from Europe;

German vax rates are only about 70%. add they do not mandate Doctors and Nurses which is NUTS plus. Your right I think its going to be a little like the seasonal flu which changes to meet virus mutations and whats active and a PITA.
Got my 4th dose todayWhen for a jog to celebrate before night shift. The last 2 doses of Novax I got do not get recorded so I think I get a 5th dose 17 Dec now
The magnets stick to my arm from the floor now and the 5G reception from my body as me turning the home and work Wifi off of course
I have not had any pfizer untill that 17 dec date possible top up.
PSSST 3rd dose, booster
lots of Doctors have Pfizer vaccines with very little demand at present. You might be able to ask your GP if you can have your 3rd dose, booster a bit before the 6 month time frame rather than wasting vax which at my place expires 29/11. A big day next week to avoid wasting with my nurse assistant record role reactivated for the day![]()
