    Hi,
Thing are moving along nicely. Few bits New, or cleaned up are being bolted on.
I am cleaning up the other rear spring.
The two numbers on the springs are
    517588 L RH
    517589 L LH
One had traces of dark green paint on one end eye ????
Order arrived from Rover spares. New F/R spring hangers and bolt set.
The old ones had very large wear marks on the inside.
Also the 3 flexy brake hoses.
Now a small problem, I didn't keep the old securing nuts, and washers
They seem a thin nut. Can I just get on at the local NUT/Bolt place ????
1977 is the imperial thread I think.
Anyone have old/new, ones they would part with ???? ( 6 nuts and washers )
Sure I would have kept them, but cant find them.
    Thanks

    Steering Relay

    Steering relay rebuilt and assembled.
Oil seal from Rover spares, then off to local bearing supplier, Fitted a double lip seal.
Cable ties around bush were replaced with Hose clamp.
Oiled bushes, shaft and internal wall of relay housing.
Top bush cable tie cut, then bush and shaft, pushed in Relay. Carefully cut apposing Ties holding spring together, and pull out, using small screw drive between spring and washer, if the tie is tight to pull out.
Tap in relay, until lower bush starts to go in, loosen Hose clamp, a little allowing it to slide off bush, as shaft is tapped in.
Bottom brass thrust wash then lower cap and seal.
Put in vice, and fill with oil. (ep90) It took ages to full fill. small gap past Bushes. Top thrust washer and top cap and seal.
Can you spot the Assemble mistake in one of the photos ?

I would leave the shackle bolts finger tight until all is assembled then try to remember before your road test.

Don't tighten the shackle bolts until the load is on the axles and then rock it a few times or do a very short drive to settle everything before tightening them.

If I interpret that correctly, yes. You will find that if you get it wrong, the second side won't fit.

    Sand Blaster

    Thanks for the replies.
Some bits off to the sand blaster. 20m across the road.
Seems to be lots of adjustment on the Bulkhead Brackets.
What do you aim for when fitting bulkhead ????
Just missing one part. The short steering Linkage arm on the LH side. Just had a thought. Be Back !!!!
Im so DUMB. Spent 1hr going through all boxes looking for the part, I could see on both my other series.
Its the one with two steering linkage holes on the LH side. Arm PART of the swivel.
