Isn't that something to do with hitting the rear wheel arch?

Not so much today but Saturday I-
replaced the harmonic damper on my TD5
replaced the front near side swivel housing including all seals, pins, bearings
Fitted a grease nipple to No 1 balljoint
Changed the vent seals (its a Defender after all
    Changed all the brake pads
Bled about 3 ltrs of fluid through the braking system to finally get a decent pedal
Removed a cable from under the roof lining to stop an annoying rattle.
Adjusted the passenger door striker as I was sick of the wife having to slam the bloody door!!
Also replaced the injector loom on a Disco 2 and helped change an exhaust on another D2.
Bloody long day but now looking forward to a nice suspension upgrade next month

At the weekend while on a club trip I decided to put the recovery hitch into the tow bar, it didn't go !

The inside measurement across the hole was correct but the corners had a rather large radius and the hitch bar had sharp corners.

Job today was the grinding the corners so the hitch bar now slides in easily and while at it, I cross drilled the bar so now the shackle pin can be set verticality.

Not strictly a Land Rover fix, but then 'Fred' has been a good boy lately so apart from a oil and filter change every ten tankfuls of diesel, I haven't needed to lay a spanner on him since the time the O-ring leaked on the power steering pump.

Put the old girl on bricks, had some tyres stripped off the rims and took the rims in for powdercoating.

Installed Maxidrive axles... Been hunting around for some for a while and finally found some. No longer have to be afraid. Now I need to find a home for 3 sets of stockers.

Just the original colour. The powdercoat colour that matched was called Magnolia or something weird like that. Same as the body colour. The 4 rims on it and 2x military spares are being blasted and powder coated to match. Should come out well hopefully.

Here is a magnolia colour sample below. I thought Magnolia were a flower or something.

I fitted a 40W flexible solar panel onto the bonnet of my P38 with a solar regulator next to the fuse box now supplying a trickle charge to the battery.

No more dead battery in a week because one of the computers decides to stay awake.
