I do love that photo. So clean.

If I did mine again, I would go for 1 breather from the tappet cover for simplicity and removing some hose clutter from turbo side of the engine.

Question for those more knowledgeable - To replace the side cover, is there any reason a piece of flat can't be used? Just wondering why the odd shape of the cover with the breather in it? When I had them off, I couldn't see any reason...

Yes you can use a flat plate. The turbo side covers are 2 of the same type as the front one on an na engine.

In the mean time I've got to some how move the radiator back about an 1.5" so I can get the cooler in front.
You can cut the lower radiator supports off the crossmember, move them back and re-weld. Watch you don't end up with the fan too close to the radiator (think flex and water crossings etc). You may be able to remove the spacer between fan and pulley to get more clearance.
Upper radiator supports would need to be modified too.

See if you can find Rijidij's V8==>Isuzu conversion thread as he put a pretty decent size intercooler in. From memory he modified the support bars for the bonnet latch to move them forward...

Fully custom to the rear. 3" mild steel, flex joint, open flow muffler. "Muffler Man" in Prahran. About $1200.

I just remembered something that's important for Muffler Man and probably any other exhaust shop too. I had to supply the exhaust housing flange for them to weld onto. They had lots of them around the shop, but none that matched our turbo. The guy said of course he could source it somehow or have one laser cut, but it would be cheaper and easier if I just supplied it. I ordered it online from Japan and had it delivered straight to the exhaust shop.

What's the brass coloured bit to the right of that? That's where my oil feed comes from. It was already tapped there when I got it.

Also I had no idea that coolant would come out there! I guess that's how to drain the block...
