Got some firewood Banjo, filled up the back of the Freelander and brought it home and spent some time with the blocksplitter. Will get some more next week, my friend has a four wheel drive ute which he will lend me (when he gets it back from his daughter) it will be able to carry a lot more firewood than I can squeeze into the back of the Freelander!!!:) Went to Sydney with a couple of business women and it wasn't pleasant on the F3, it absolutely bucketed down, I had to drop one lady off at Paddington and the other one at Kensington, got home just after 9pm!!!;)

banjo
9th June 2010, 09:19 AM
Well rang the rangers thismorning they have all the details of what happend when & where.
They will follow it up & they will visit the house where the dog is & make sure the yard is siutable for the dog & why it was able to get out. Also they will investigate to make sure it hasn't happend before.
They said at the very least the owners will recieve a large fine & a sturn talking to.If it turns out it has happend before then its posable they mite loose the dog & it will have to be put down..
We have to ring back on friday or monday to find out whats happening as the owners mite want to contest it & we will have to provide evidance of what happend..

Where we are now the dogs around us are always out & it gives us the ****s as we are resposable dog owners & keep our dog in the yard at all times . But no one else round here gives a toss. There is one dog that has chased Cody & was nipping at his feet & has run at Karen before .. Well the owners must of heard me going off at it once when i went to the pie shop with Karen she told & showed me where it was & it was going off at us through the gate & was trying to get out at us < Well i went off at it & how its all way out & it should have a go at me cause i would kick the crap out of it & make it sore, Its a medium sized dog & goes everyone round here. Well the owners must of heard me going off cause now they go out of there way to make sure its all ways in the yard ...

Not long been home, Great weekend with great company. Woke up this morning with ice inside the swag, its a oz trail mitchel, one of the hoop ones and the condesation turned to a thin layer of ice. Got up at about 5 ish for a pee (had to break that off), stoke the fire up brewed a coffee and parked myself in front of a lovely camp fire until the other noisey buggers broke the peace at about 6

Hey Aus did you end up ringing up about that new newcastle landrover club if so how did you get on ...?

banjo
13th June 2010, 08:18 PM
Oh dear i think this is going to hurt...Where to start
Well i have been on a pension for a few years now because i have AGROPHOBIA servere panic disorder.i have trouble going out to the point where i have locked myself in the bathroom in colds sweats with my heart in my throat thinking i would passout or pee or crap myself..i also have done this when i have had people coming over to visit or in this case (people offering to come & help )..it has ruined my life & my immediate family (wife & kids)..you know we used to go up to our local bush (hillsborough ) when we had a nissan SWB kids loved it but it sometimes could take me an hour to get there & we only live literaly 5 min drive from it..
its been realy hard for us because our families think its a big joke .they seem to think its funny to take the micky out of me ..but 27 years of abuse mentaly, physically, mentaly sexualy..
So i dont deal with people to well cause if i have to leave or (hide)as such they dont understand so we just dont do it but its now realy taking its toll on the wife & kids..
we had to file bankrupt a few years back now & the way this rover is going it could send us there again..wife (karen is realy worried )
i had a friend who i used to do stuff with because he didnt care that if we where going some where if i needed to turn round & head for home he didnt say anything i would just settle myself down & then turnround again & keep going & catch up to him & this could happen a few times before i got there & sometime i couldnt get there but he was ok with it so we got on real good but he went & died on me & i have taken it hard & since then i havent been able to do anything realy & we used to go bush alot just for the day out to sugarloaf & out the back of glendale & up hillsborough man i miss those days we all had fun me the kids & wife plus my friend..we used to work for ourselves i am a diesel mechanic by trade havent touched tools since i done my trade 20 years ago but we used to wash & grease trucks that kept us going was good money cause we used to do about 20 trucks a week..
Now the best i do is going down to the local shops again 5min drive away but i do go for a walk round aldi the cheap shops & the paper shop gotta get me rover mags..but this rarely happens .karen does all my running around picking up parts & the like..
i seem to get on better with woman the shrink says its because most of the abuse i suffered was from my father..
hence the reason we only see a few family members ..
we thought it bout time i told use as we have had offers of help with the car..
dont know how i would handle it..but if it wasnt for karen i know i would be dead she saved me..
the best thing so far is my kids..
& i have to say i have never found so many people to offer to help when they havent even met us ..thats cool.
i can only hope that when the car is sorted i can get some part of our life back & start going back to the bush...
So we would like to say many many thanks to everyone who has offered to help...
Not trying to be sobby just thought if use new the problem it mite make it easier to understand why i cant except the offers of help but i (we) really appreciate them i dont know how i would handle people here for the time it could take...
THANKS Jason & Karen..

Well i recon i have made a little headway since this post.
I have gained more confidance in the last 6 months than i have in 12 years of seeing shrinks & saved heaps to..
I have also made the effort to go on little outings more than i have in the past anyway..

But most of all we have made some very strong friendships that will stay with us for a very long time...

So we would just like to say thankyou for everyones surport & friendships..

And the theropy is pretty good aswell..

THANKS Jason & Karen...

Hi Jason
Karen - Teaspoon of concrete may help. Wasnt cold at all in the sleeping bag, been even warmer in a double swag with my wife cuddled up to me. I have never had ice inside it before and I think it was cause by the condensation, never had that problem before either, mind you I think it was sub zreo temps over night.
Dosnt seem to matter how cold it gets, you put the warm cloths and the beanie on, pull up a chair of choice and park it at the required distances from the camp fire, adjust at times to suit fire output, strike up some good consevation with like minded people. Dosnt take long to find heaven on earth at the right campfire no matter where its lit. One day, maybe myself and my wife along with you and jason can find that place around a campfire one day.
Hows the injury healing?

Onya Jason. It takes a brave man to do what you've done ... and it was worth it, right?

... and blaze, those sub-zero temps' will do it everytime ! I've suggested the swag thing to wifey a few times now but I know when to give up :(

She likes her tent & big double decker air bed ... I don't mind it either, but I get to put the tent up/down ... big ol' cabin tent ... gonna change it out for an Oztent one day soon as I'm over the 40min to put the tent up!

You should both change your ways and get a check up at least once a year--Birthday is a time most remember. Some nasty diseases are not much of a problem when caught early.

Last November a had a section of Bowel chopped out because I had cancer. If we had not caught this very early and it spread it would have been much worst. Going to doctor for checks can catch things before they make you very ill and miserable.

Catch it early. and save yourselves much future grief.

Well i had a realy realy good day today Karen & i went down the road just after 9 went to the paper shop & had a stroll & brouse through there came out with me 2 cheapy gardening mags that i get. Then went for a walk yes a walk over to the new shopping center went for a stroll inside today haven't done that till today bugga all in there.. Drove round to the video shop & desided to walk to Aldi so went for a stroll in there & got the bread & found a DVD so got that aswell..Then walked to the video shop to drop off a late DVD then went & looked through the cheap shop for a while.. Was about to leave to go home but forgot to get smokes so back to bilo got smokes. Then thought i would stop in & see our old neighbour as i haven't called in since we moved , the one that treats our kids like grand kids well she was so excited to see me it was great as her husband died the same day we got the keys to this place.. Banj, I am really happy for you that you have made progress and walked around Cardiff, you remember when you started this Thread all that time ago and I suggested you stand on any street corner in Cardiff and look at people walking past and that everyone of them would have a story to tell.? You said there is no way you could do that, well guess what? I bet you could do that now, if only for a few minutes.

What an absolutely great day weatherwise, we had our family get together for my father in laws 90th birthday, and everything went off great. I have never seen the old fella smile so much, particularly when old friends that he hadn't seen in years turned up. We had a marquee set up in the back yard, but it wasn't really needed as the weather was brilliant, so it was used like a kitchen to serve food from.

We are not long home, we dropped the in laws off at Cardiff heights on the way and they were pretty tired but very happy.:):)

AWESOME see i don't have to see a doctor for another 12 years  :whistling::whistling:

No you do not have to see a colonosopy doctor for another 12 years. You should get a full check up every Birthday. and other tests done. For example p PSA and digial exam forprostrate should be done from your 40th Birthday. It is only the Colonoscopy that could be put of untill you are a little bit older.

Regular medical checkups on your birthday should be done. Note, that I do not say you should have any treatment that the doctor tells you, but just a check to see if anything is wrong. then you can look at any treatment options later.

For examples many people have type 2 diabetes. But type 2 diabetes is totally curable by lifestyle changes. That is if you get type 2 diabetes you do not have to do what the doctor says as you can cure it yourself--you would google the many Websites on this disease if you were ever diagnosed with it, is what I would advise.

But in the USA every person with Type 2 Diabetes is worth $250,000 to the medical profession, so many doctors do not want you to cure yourself.

So there is a difference being diagnosed an choosing your own treatment options.

Only sold it cause someone couldn't drive it  wont mention any names ok Fatty :no2::whistling: :2up: .

Sortin out disc brakes for this one now. .. then the springs have to be done , Going to go with some heay duty parabolics i think well i will give em a go anyway . . .then will be puting in the highway transfercase gears...

In a delema about what to do with the crapoyta ****box .. Don't know wether to rego it again for 12 months or just scrap it , After taking the 5 speed out though. & we would like to get a camper trailer tent top (off fleebay) & use my car as an every day car.. But we would both like to get another one to build.. I would like an old rangie so i could put a series 1 body on it or a series 3 on it...( TOY )...
Karens car is ok think it will need front &rear brakes done a good tune up & rebuild the carby & fix the leaks & a little bodywork but thats about it...

not a bad buy though if it is only a head gasket...whats a head gasket worth not much more than $30 , some new coolant & change the oil.....

not a bad buy though if it is only a head gasket...whats a head gasket worth not much more than $30 , some new coolant & change the oil..... Bit more involved than that Banjo, head gasket failure is usually a sympton of slipped cylinder liners which means a rather expensive engine rebuild, thats why it is so cheap.!!!!;) If it is a 1.8L petrol, and it sounds like it, they have a very BAD RECORD for slipped cylinder liners. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole, unless you are going to use it as a project and put a different motor in it!!!!

From what I can understand, the 1.8L is basically a bad design, the cooling system really doesn't hold enough coolant and the thermostat is badly positioned so that when it opens it causes Thermal Shock to the motor which over time causes the liners to slip and the sympton of that is Head Gasket Failure. I believe you can reinstall modified liners and also a special laminated head gasket as well as a redesigned thermostat, but it is all quite expensive and people don't bother, particularly as most FL1's are at least 10 years old it is not economical to repair them so most people just sell them as scrap.
The V6 (which I own) can also have the same problem but because it is a different engine it is much less likely to happen. The diesel is the only way to go and if I had my time over I would have bought the TD4 diesel motor. The big downside of the V6 is they are thirsty, as I have found out and like all European cars they use PULP which is of cause more expensive than ULP. Hope that helps.:)

Just a thought, I wonder how you would go scrapping that motor and putting a TD1 or TD4 diesel motor in!!!!! Probably a major job as the engine mounts would be all different, but a bloke with your many talents could easily overcome that!!!!:D

Year 1984 [assuming we do not decide to also sell our 1990 Auto, and we are thinking of that one as a project car.]
4 door.

5 speed, I think they call it a LT77 box.

Are you thirsty, the v8 high compression motor in it is very thirsty. But we do have some gass gear that could go with car--we were going to convert the one that rolled.

Chassis is in very good condition from memory. But rust in sills under aluminium plate.
$990 or best offer [it is my sons car]
It drives okay. Slight main bearing noise in gearbox. We would not have known if a retired mecanic had not told us.

it does need the adjustable ball joint above the rear diff adjusted. It would not adjust when we tried. But probably just needs a good soak.

Compression down a litlle bit on motor, but irt runs well.

It has dual batteries but is being sold wothout a battery. It switches from one battery to the other by getting bonnet open.

Have not yet worked out how to post pictures on net. Found a thread on it but have to learn how. But will e-mail you pictures.

Make us an offer.

Year 1984 [assuming we do not decide to also sell our 1990 Auto, and we are thinking of that one as a project car.]
4 door.

5 speed, I think they call it a LT77 box.

Are you thirsty, the v8 high compression motor in it.

Hey John how badly was it rolled ...Fatty likes the idea of a posh range rover for her to use . . .
And yes could you email some pics to us thanks..

Been having log in trouble today. Log in but it thinks I have not logged in.

Jason, those photos I sent by e-mail to you can be put on the forum. Have yet to teach myself how to do this.

On the bonnet of the white rolled RR is my son [23yrs old] who looks sour because he is in much pain from his broken back, broken in the rollover of the RR--he was driving alone.

But that is an old photo and he is back at work [final year apprentice welder], though puts up with very much pain from his back.

When I learn how to put photos on will post my ugly mug on this thread, Johnf.

Hi Banjo
Been boxing the slab and footings for my new shed today, been and still is a long running saga with the council. Too small , 9 x 6 metres with a 3 x 6 m carpost on the front. Next stage will be another carport off the front that will be 6 x 6 metres but unlike the first section will be 3metres high. Marked out a new paling fence line, that will be 42 metres long and about $1000 for treated posts, rails and palings.
cheers

Actually both these are on offer. The planned project one is a white 1990, that is straight, that I did not get to photograph.

That blue one is the one my son is selling [along with the rolled one for spare parts, minus motor and Gearbox]. We would like to get our hands on a 1994-1995 soft dash for the project, but have not found a cheap one yet.

Do not grow funny plants except lots of the weed named Lantana. My Hair is not that long now days but was to my shoulders when I was younger. We are actually 12km from Nimbin, but Nimbin is the closest town with a Post Office and Hospital/Doctor.

In case you are wondering, the blue one is parked next to the road, 4 sale, just outside our front gate. The rolled one is on our property. If you look at the side shot of the rolled on, you can just see the rear of another one in the background. That is the blue one just outside our gate, before we moved in out of the gate.
