Well i was talking to Karen this morning & she was saying that no one from here has been in touch with her use all are our friends not just mine.So Please give her a text or a ring use all have her numbers home & mobile..
Do use want to know what i was talking to her about ???????
To bad use are gunna hear any way ..
I got in touch with BEYOND BLUE mental health to see what they could offer in the way of help ..
Well they run a program of self help courses but they dont have anything where i am at the moment as yet..BUT they do run a courses at Charlstown which is not far from home ..I have to have a phone asessment first & some email contact with the organizer lady so she can work out the best way to help & was told not to rush things or i would be in for a big let down if i tried to do that...The course is also for carers aswell to help them better manage there support....
I have emailed the organizer lady linda someone for my phone asessment but have been told i mite not hear till early next week as she is very busy..
I have also downloaded some info on selfhelp & advise ..I havent read it yet..
Karen said to ring life line but they are for suicide not anxiety .. But i am looking for a counsiler for the phone for the time being..
I am trying to find where i can get some more info sent out to me about some DVDs for the selfhelp i looked at one of the links Ferret put up & they had some DVDs but where very exspensive... i thought i mite of been able to get some free or even some books or reading matierial on the self help as this seems to be the best place to start & i have all the time in the world to read....
Apparently a lot of people who have read & or watched the matierial has helped them a lot to the piont they go out lots now & these things have ways to help yourself manage the panic attacks with breathing & mind exersizes to build up yourself ...
So if anyone of use know of books or anything yell out as i want to do some reading on it ..
Oh & i guess outside of Karen i will be puting use down as my support as i was told i will need the help & support of family & friends so i guess thats Karen & use..
Also while looking the mob Micayle seen & that Karen is now seeing came up as a speicalist in this field but i need a referal from my doctors to go there & i will have to go on a plan thing for the free treatment & i have to pay $50 on the first visit.. But i cant just jump in the car & do that down there just yet.. But i will be eventualy . . . I only get 6 visits on the plan thing but i can get another referal if needed..
Jason.
Best post you have made in weeks.
I hope you do follow thru and get some help.
GOODLUCK

Please let us know when you get the call Jason.
Well i havent been able to send emails up untill now so it will be later & i dont think i fill the requirements for it from the site ...
BUT for something better i am getting professional help instead from a shrink that specialises in this feild ..
KAREN is getting me a referal this thursday while she is at the doctors for her blood test & she is seeing them on the same day so will be making me an appointment to see them while she sees them to..
I can go home to get the help & we will see what happen with Karen & i then I will be going into the back room (Freds) & she will jump in with Karen while we see how things go....I am a little worried being there for this as i do love Karen & i do want a relasionship with Karen & she isnt prepaid to do that the moment....
I will do what ever it takes for Karen I MEAN THAT SO this is what it will be for the moment..
The whole time i have been here i have texted Karen for someone to talk to as she has been my mate for so long & its pushing her further away so as of now as i sent Karen an email with some info i got off lifeline for her to read so texted her to let her know as Karen doesn't check the emails ..So as of now i wont be texting or ringing Karen at all so that she does have the space & time with out me in anyway...
This will be my last post till thursday as my net is just about up so use will have to text me for a chat..
And why has no one been in touch with Karen eigther as use are friends of us both & Karen is the same as me we dont have friends ..She wont bite & would probably enjoy hearing from use as well...
So untill thursday take care & cross your fingers for me & Karen that i will leave her alone & she mite even miss me & posably like me to come home..

Ok give me a bit of advise last fortnight pay i got a part payment so did Karen so i gave Karen $150 out of mine no drama this week Karen only gets a part payment again i get my full pension , So i told Karen to take out $300 so she can pay the bills no drama i also told Karen to take out her paper delivery money about $100 no drama..
Now i have everyone up here telling me not to give them the money BUT I LOOK AT IT AS PUTTING KAREN & THE KIDS FIRST FOR A CHANGE..
Everyone says no dont cause if karen dont want you back she cant pay you back doesn't bother me..My step father is saying dont she will have to get someone in to help pay the rent & the bills meening a bloke ...
Mum says dont give them any money that way Karen will realise she cant live on her own & then would want me back..
I recon if i did this Karen would just say go **** your self then & i would never get back home.. & i dont want to say that cause i dont think like that..
Me i am doing it to put karen & the kids first & i also take it as we are still together untill Karen has seen the sych & gets her head sorted & then she tells me other wise..
Karen used to work at the cardiff hot bread shop & was going to ring the boss to see if she could work again & start on monday just been ..I'm glad she didnt as it was robbed & the 2 cooks & the lady out front counter where tied up & the took the cash register & everyones mobiles & wallets..
Now i would like Karen to work if she wants if we are together & i also want Karen to goto the gym & not worry about me at home or worry that she should hurry home as i'm at home on my own..
If i do get back home i will be buying another project to do so i will be busy...
Also had someone from here tell me i should stay where i am & start a new life for myself ....****OFF I DONT THINK SO.. I love Karen very dearly...
Been on the gerny all day cleaning at the cement still got more to do tomorrow..

Hi Jason
I think you are doing the right thing supporting your family, just dont run yourself too short of money in a way that it may affect your ability to recieve treatment for yourself. Still gotta give you a ring some time, seems I havnt had time to fart lately
think positive and stay safe

I think you should negotiate a fixed long-term arrangement. If you then want to do extra its beyond that agreement. Otherwise you're inevitably going to end up in a fight over money. Fix an agreement now before that happens. If circumstances change, you can review it.

Well i'm not dead yet sometimes i realy wish i was..
Still the same up here at mothers in the flat in the shed..
Karen has started to see the sych .She had an appointment to get a referal for me last tuesday but it was canceld as the doc is off crook so Karen has a new appointment this monday to get my referal.. The sych she is seeing has told her its probably best if she gets herself sorted before she worries about anyone else ..Young Cody now has to see some one as he is getting so moody he is punching wall & doors & just being a **** bigtime so the sych & the doc said he should see someone all though the doc did say get him a punching bag..Karen was at the docs today to get her results of her blood test & all is well there ..
So not to sure when i will be starting to see the sych & starting my treatment..but Karen will let me know..
Karen has no one to talk to eigther at home ..
I see no one has contacted eigther of us even just to say gday ...
I guess we know who our real friends are threw think & thin that person has given me a little internet so i can chat with fred of a night on MSN..
& has been there for the last 5 weeks i have been here & kept me sane & out of trouble & has become a realy good friend to me kept me alive for awhile there.. Its been hard i realy miss Karen & just chating to her & i have made things worse while here sometimes but have had one person to chat to most of the time so i realy realy apreciate that only texting me but its enough to keep me alive & sane..I spend alot of time here on my own ..
Everytime i have had to do my shopping i have stuffed it up & forgot to get alot of things or just got the wrong things..
My car is playing up when it gets warm its getting hard to start & blows heaps of smoke ..But i have been getting all my stuff myself even if i have to make a few trips although that has now changed as everything is out of the way & uses all my fuel ..I give Karen as much of my pay as i can to help her out with the bills at home...
Other than that everything is the same..
AND to the one person who has helped me so much through this i will be turning up on your door step one day to thankyou in person oneday before i'm turning up daisies...

HI Jason, sorry I haven't been around for a while but like a lot of your friends on this thread, unfortunately we don't have the time to be here every night. Many of us have our own issues we must deal with and it takes up a lot of our time but be that as it may, before I read your last reply I was thinking about the content of this thread and really how far you've come (even if you don't realise it yourself) and the help you could give others. Emptying your head is a big help to both you and to whom ever you're talking.
You say you're bored at times but rather than trying to find things to occupy your mind I think you're now in a great position to offer advice to others suffering similar problems. You've learn't so much and received so much advice over the course of this thread that you could act as a therapist in your own right. And believe me, I 've seen it so many times, both you, Karen and your kids will get through this and survive in a much stronger way than you can imagine right now. Don't ever wish you were dead mate, cos its for eternity. Keep talking to us, any and all of us and we'll bit by bit help you through this.
cheers Gerald

Hey Banj, how are they hanging mate......
Well, I haven't been on this thread for a while and it is apparent that Karen has been talking to you as I have rung her (tried several times and nobody has been home). Things have been changing here rapidly, been VERY busy with Mrs Aus's father being very ill and eventually passing away last Friday (got the call at midnight) and we had his Funeral yesterday. All the family have been visiting Nan and the Daughter who lives in Brisbane came down, she just left to return to Brissy about 30 minutes ago. So you can see it has been a very busy and sad time for my family. I have been on the Forum but only for fleeting minutes to catch up with what is going on.
Karen has no doubt mentioned to you that I have changed jobs, I now drive buses out of the Edgeworth Depot for Hunter Valley Buses, been a while since I have driven full size vehicles but I am getting used to it. Went to Sydney today with other drivers and brought back eleven buses, all brand new. The one I drove back had just over 1000 k's on the clock and smelt like a new car. Drove like a car too, automatic gearbox and all but you have to remember there is 22 metres of vehicle behind you when you go around roundabouts.
Anyrate, I thought I would catch up with you as I have been very busy, also had to do a course called Certificate 111 Transport and Logistics (Buses and Coaches) which took 2 weeks fulltime, luckily the company paid me a wage while I was doing it.
The buses we brought back are Volvo chassis and motor with a Volgren frame, even has a camera at the back so you can see when you are reversing, good stuff.:)
Anyrate, that's the latest from me, hope you are going well, marvellous what you can do when you say to yourself "I can do this". Go for it mate, it can be done!!!!:D

I guess i will seek help later from here once i find a doc to get into as they are all full its crap.

Well i'm back home again been back a week yesterday its been good with some ups & downs ,Kids where real happy to see me when they got home after being out all day ..karen & i are both making a real go of it .
Karen is also working now partime although she said its become permanent as she has worked every day but its only 2 hours a day with the occasional 4 hour day ,its cleaning houses & businesses she likes it alot & gives her a break away from me she is also going to the gym everyday & is realy enjoying it alot which gives her more of a break from me so thats good & its great to see Karen happy again with that beautifull smile back..
I am also going to get my help BUT it wont be till the new year as they are fully booked out & its hard to get in..
I'm also still doing what i was able to do before i left going out doing stuff & now will be doing the pamphlets & papers on my own now that Karen is working although Karen will help with the delivery as she can just sit & throw them for me BUT i will be doing all the folding & bagging ...

Took a while to find you had moved...
Back tracked you from the Harry thread and have been reading heaps of pages that I missed.
You have been through a wringer of emotions but I am glad to see you are back where you belong. All the very best to you and Karen for now and the future. You complement each other when you are being helpful and it is fantastic to see you are making good use of your time.
As for Harry - good score there - I will look forward to you posts as we all see what you are going to do with it. (Camper on the back?) :)

Hi Jason, I haven't commented here for a while. Been flat out and only popping in for a really quick look here and there. Quite some time back I said you and the kids would keep it real and good and hey, it's happened, eh? Not saying I told you so, but I was just confident. It's usually the way, parents can split and the kids will see the good in both of them and come round but even better, you're back home. Mate, I'm just so happy for all of you. Go back to your first post and see how far you've come. I've said that before and maintain that belief that you've helped not only yourself but so many others in this thread. Good on ya Jason and Karen for being there for each other and your kids :) :) :) cheers Gerald

Oh great still in the soap box .see i never come in here ...Anyway been back home a fortnight now & Karen & i are getting on really good now ....Karens now working & the 2 day a week job has now turned into a 6 day a week but karen likes it ,Although she has missed her gym a bit as she is getting tied from work ....
She got a kitten today since the other cat left after we moved here & has never been back at all....
I have to tell ya its the ugliest kitten i have ever seen...
So there ya have it .I havent done to much to harry been busy with house work & getting kids off to school ..
Plus i did all the banking & shopping this week & went & paid rent on my own Oh fred came shopping with me since she not at school...
I seem to be more relaxed doing stuff now ,Even went to a big salvos garage sale on saturday morning karen Cody & I went walk around till Karen spent up she got a nice coffee table & huge blanket box & a bit TV all for $50 had to make 2 trips couldnt get coffee table in ..
Was answering lots of questions about the green landy so I was yaking for some time to total strangers plus i told them about harry so they asked all about that one then..So was a good day out for me ..I dont get moody anymore or ****edoff about being at home on my own anymore I still do get moody but everyone does at some point.plus im to busy now as i do the pamphlets & papers on my own monday & tuesday I do all the folding & Karen just comes & helps throw them so is good...
Plus with doing the groceries & banking & rent keeps my occupied . . .
OH PS G'day MONGREL shinny top LOL....

So whats everyone been upto while i was away..Anyone heard or seen johnF..What about Ian or Discomick..
Ive sorta taken up where i left off wen i left here only now Karen is working i do the shopping the banking & the bills get the kids off to school well Cody everyday but fred only wen she feels like going as year 10 have finished so its just a social meeting place for them at the moment..
Havent done to much to Harry as i been busy with the house stuff & now its raining so wont get to much done for a bit by the look of it ,it looks like its set in for awhile..
Other than that i havent realy done that much i do seem to do a lot of in & out trips for the bloody kids..
Been doing some tattoos ..Done a cross on the side of my hand (that hurt ) i let Karen colour it in to teach her a bit but i think she liked pushing the needle in to far..I had done my knuckles before i came home & have just been filling in around whats already there..Teaching the kids to use the tattoo guns & how to set them up properly .& teaching them all about cross contamination blood & ink SO they KNOW how well things have to be cleaned & sterilised i have all the stuff for that so they learning all that aswell..Karen & Cody like using the practice skin i have here although Cody pushed so hard he hit the table through the skin so i will pass on letting him near me cause if he was to do the inside of my arm it would show on the other side.LOL.
Went to a big salvos garage sale on the weekend that was good very crowded we got some stuff..Went & brought a new RUG for the lounge floor yesterday it goes quiet nice under the new coffee table...
Got a new telly its huge compared to the last one well its not new but new to us salvos garage sale also got this huge bloody blanket box aswell ..Got it all for $50 so was real happy...
Karen like her new job although she is getting tied & has had to miss the gym a couple of times a week ,& i feel bad ash absolutely love the gym....
Work was sposed to only be 2 days aweek but the first week she started has been working 6 days aweek. But she enjoys it & it also gives her a break from me..Most of the jobs are only 2 hour but she has had some long days with 2 jobs a day & they also do builders cleans she has only had one of them so far they where 3 units she was there for 2 full days with the boss & a heap of other works for the cleaners & only got 2 done ,Karen couldnt go back for the 3rd day as the boss has given Karen some permanent jobs that she has to do weekly or fortnightly so Karen had to get to those..

Bit of an update from me too, Banjo. been busy driving buses all week and will be doing overtime on Sunday (at double time too, so that will come in handy for Christmas). It has been a hetic six weeks, learning the theory then the practical. I didn't think there was so much to busdriving, it was complicated with the new timetables being released last Monday, so we had new bus routes to learn. Anyrate here is a picture of one of the new buses, they sent 26 up and 4 went to the Thornton Depot, the rest are at Edgeworth. You have probably seen them out on the road, here is a piccy of one of the brand new ones.

No Stuuu, I have not driven buses before, only mini buses, so it is a brand new experience for me. I have driven semi-trailers before though, but a long time ago, so it is taking a little while for me to readjust to driving large vehicles.:) The picture of the bus was taken last week, that is why it is a clear sky in the background, it has been raining quite heavy here at the moment.

G'Day Kev, I think something is being planned for Stockton Beach for New Year. I believe it is an overnight thing, which doesn't interest me as I have no camping gear. I like your suggestion though, maybe we can get together one Sunday at the northern end of Stockton Beach for a getogether type thing.:)

Well been home for a month this saturday & i gotta say its been great Karen & i are getting on realy realy good now....Today is the only day i have'nt been out so did some work to Harry...I been out paying bills doing all the shopping running kids around everywhere..
I really enjoy doing stuff with Karen mainly running around down the town, doing shopping if she has'nt had a big day at work its about the only time we get to spend together as just us...
Had to take fred upto the John Hunter hospital last thursday as she got a lift home with a friends mum & the woman thought fred was out door was wide open though & she just drove off running over the inside of Freds left foot she has a fracture & a huge cut that they could'nt stitch as the edges of it are so jagered they could'nt get a hold for the stitches..
She has a tread mark in the cut which will always stay there..
But shes going good & getting better & she can move around more now so all is good..

Hi Jason
Wont talk about the teeth, what a bloody waste of money they are, been back for too adjustments so far and I have know bloody idea how people ever eat with them, still eating with out them. Sheds finished apart from the gutter, been using it trying to get the van ready for the big trip (only 4 cuboard doors to go ). My baby (daughter) gets married tomorrow so its been prtty full on get sorted for that to. They spent $1000 getting their jeep here from WA, told them they could have used the disco and it wouldnt have cost them any thing. The wedding cars will be the jeep and a limo, bit of a odd mix. Might take a grinder and see if we can fit a set of 33's on the limo to match the jeep.
Sounds like things are going well with you and karen. thats really good, lso good you have a project (would have gladly given you a bucket load of mine a month ago)

Hey Banjo, good to see you again after 2 months, as you know I have been very busy, learning the new job and also with Mrs Aus's father being very ill for a period of time and eventually passing away, so we had funeral's to arrange and with Mrs Aus being an only daughter it was a big load on her although her eldest daughter was a great help in organising things. Anyway, it was good to see you and Karen together again and you both looked happy and I hope it works out for you. Mate, you have got to set small goals and go for them as each small step forward will not only help you but be of great assistance to all your loved ones.
Thanks for the Grill from "Harry Highback", I brought it home and spray painted it silver and polished the "LandRover" logo with car polish to bring it up a bit and with great reverence I screwed it above the door in the garage, it now looks down upon the garage(and the Freelander) like an Icon, you feel you must bow to it as you walk through the door.
Here it is in it's exhalted high position.....

Hey Jason!
Didn't realise this thread was still around. It migrated to the soapbox! Didn't realise you were back on here at all till I saw the thread about the new project yesterday.
Glad to read that you and Karen seem to be getting it back together and a lot of progress has been made :) sounds like Karen getting a job has been a real plus, that bit of time apart can be great I reckon.
I have thought about you and how you might have been going over the last couple of months. Tried to send you a text way back but realised I don't have your number anymore since my phone went for a swim ages ago and I lost a load of numbers. But am rwally glad to see you back on here, definitely hadn't forgotten about you mate!
Life of this side of the country has been hectic for me. I was on-call over the weekend and was called numerous times across both days which is unusual - saturday left me feeling totally wrecked because I was called in to do a brain death scan to confirm the ICU doc's suspicions - she was only 25 and had a 2 year old son, and sadly she had indeed lost all blood flow to her brain - is currently with the coroner now as they have no idea whatsoever what happened - she walked into ED 4 days prior and just deteriorated. Bloody tragic, wouldn't wish it upon anyone. But it means I've worked 9 days straight now (will be at least 12 before I get a day off) so am feeling it pretty bad now.
Was back in Newcastle 2 weeks ago - me and Hannah (partner of 6.5 years) are now engaged, so that's exciting for me! So will hopefully be moving back when my year in Perth is up, around easter. Will be back for Xmas and New Year, getting into Newy on xmas eve morning then driving straight to Victoria. Will be back probably around New Year for a day or so before heading back to Perth - if I see you in the green monster I'll be sure to wave like an absolute fruitcake!
Anyway, really glad for the positives that have come about, and to see you back on here. Will keep coming to the soapbox now I've got a reason to!!

Hey Seano congratulations on the engagement ,6.5 years is a long time to wait I only took about 3 to pop the question but we have been engaged for 20 years so dont take that long OK..I would realy hate to do your job after reading that..

Yeah Karen & i are getting on better now & she has work & her gym so has time away from me now which is great for both of us & she loves work & the gym although she has had to slow down with the gym as she works alot more than she antisipated was only going to be 2 to 3 days a week a couple of hours a day & some days are only a couple of hours but some are 5 or 6 hours a day but she loves it & its turned out to be 5 days a week..
I do alot more now i have to do all the shopping pay the bills & rent & do all the running around for the kids but im enjoying it...When karen has the days when she only works a couple of hours we go down the road together to do shopping pay bills & that great as its about the only time we get away from the kids & we are doing something togeter...
Been DOODLING this morning & drew a pic of betty boop for the inside of my lower left leg it turned out bigger than i expected so i did it smaller,I sent a text to a friend to show him & the MONGREL turned around & said next you'll be telling me you like to cuddle up to men..MONGREL so i mite not do it now ..So i drew a pic of what i thought he mite look like as i have never met him in person & yes he is my best mate ..

Great to see you are getting on with life and finally sorting your family issues.
This thread wont be shifted back to General Chat. For your good, your familys good and AULRO's good.
There are many of questional posts in the thread that have been reported by many AULRO users over the life of the thread,if its in the general section its open to the Spider Bots the search engines use.In the soapbox the bots cant gain acses. It prevents this thread and its contents coming up in Google and similar searches.
I hope this helps you understand why your thread will remain here.
This thread is yours, keep it working with your AULRO friends.

Karen has desided i should put Jessica Rabit on the other leg..Going to put starts & diamonds around betty & also i will draw up her little dog she always has with her..I should get all my new needles tuesday so that will be good as all the shops are closed over Xmas so we will have something to do & fred has desided on some that she wants ...She wants to get our post code done somewhere as that seems to be the trend with all the kids these days ahwell its upto her she has to wear it not me...

G'Day Banj, I have been off-line since the 14th December, computer playing up again. This time it was the Mother Board, cost $235 to replace and I am now trying to catch up with what is going on. Mrs Aus, mentioned to me that she saw you in Cardiff and that she waved to you. I have received your christmas card, thanks very much.
Have a Merry Christmas mate, to you Karen and the kids and may 2011 be a year that you make great strides forward.

I hope everyone has a really good christmas & a safe one . & if your going away be safe on the roads ...
Karen has 5 days off so we are all spending them together just at home , the kids are getting some money so they mite all go shopping on Tuesday as everything is reopen around here..I'm going to get some work done to Harry if i'm lucky i mite get it all down to just the chassis, not happy when we moved i had to throw out my 2 engine trollys one was made for the engine & one was for the gearbox & transfercase..So not to sure what i'll do with them now i spose i can allways just sit them on the ground...
Once its just the chassis i'm going to cut the gearbox Xmember out & i'll make it a bolt in one like the green one I'll also throw on a power steering box & then get it all painted..

Using a debit card IS paying cash - you're only spending money that is already in your account, it's just a different way of getting the money out.
Ausfree
30th December 2010, 02:40 PM
Banjo, a Debit Card is a convenient way of accessing your own money, it saves you carrying around great wads of dough and risking being robbed. The card does not work if you don't have money in your account to cover it. As far as the internet is concerned you can (perhaps) link your paypal account to your Debit Card so that when you purchase something on the Internet, Paypal then deducts the purchase price from your Debit Card. ( Must admit I am not 100% sure with Debit Cards and Paypal, I know it works with Credit Cards, but you can easily check with Paypal).:):)

Debit cards work with paypal, at least they do for me. I like debit as I'm only spending my money. The disadvantage is that it costs a few dollars each month for the privilege. I like the convenience, but in truth, hardly use it.

Hey Banj, many thanks today for your assistance in changing the oil in the rear diff on my Freelander, much appreciated. I have been doing some research on the IRD unit and it uses 1.1 litres of 75w-90 oil same as the rear diff, so we could have changed it as you suggested. If its not done in the service at ALL FOURX4 in a couple of weeks, I will get some more oil and do it.Apparently, there is a drain plug on the IRD unit, so the oil will not have to be sucked out. I'll check with ALL FOURx4 about changing the oil in the IRD unit.:):)

Thanks Dale, settled down after Christmas obviously but then spend a bit over a week at the outlaws who live 5 hrs (er 5.30hrs in the Def) up the road at Port Macquarie (just a bit ( a sizeable bit) up the road from Jason and Karen's). Hey, our Def's are funny things, aren't they?. Started having power steering problems which is a tad unsettling at around 100kmh (or 115 - 120 on the speedo - just a bit out) and then it was kicking in and out and I discovered a weep from the back of the pump which apparently can't be serviced. Anyway, I go for a jaunt up the Plomer rd which is a quite bumpy, potholed road (softroaders can do it) and hey presto! no more problems!
Weird or what??

Wasnt to bad i messaged my younger sister to let her know we where staying at mums for the night if she wanted to bring the kids around ..
So we gets there no one home but chick (sister) came round so was good ,,we unpacked the car & put all our stuff in the barn (where i stayed while i was living there)..Then one of my other sisters & her 2 kids turned up ...WAS my stepfathers birthday which we found out when chick got there so was probably not a good time for me to decide to go away..Anyway finaly the parents gets home so we all sat around yaking for ages & all the kids went swimming & riding scooters & bikes ,Then another sister turned up with 3 of her 5 kids ...So everyone chated for heaps & we all actualy got on for the first time in a very long time so was good..MUM & Graham where very surprised to see me there & had thought when they drove up the driveway oh crap whats Jason done now but then seen the kids..
So When we left today we dicided to come home the long way through Minmi well long way in my car & when we just came out of minmi we seen a big yellow bus thought gee wouldnt that be funny if that was Aus but it wasnt ,,BUT we did see him when we where coming into Cardiff we seen Aus & fred yells out from the back HEY THERES AUS i did wave Aus..
So there you have it not a huge step but its a very small step & we all had fun & i never got nervous at all so was even better for me...

Only have the baulkhead to get off Harry now the can get into it with the pressure cleaner & cut the gearbox Xmember out so can be bolted not welded that way i dont have to take half the car apart just to get the gearbox out..

We had rain right through the year (except August) this year.
La Nina apparently and it is now only just warming up enough to stop the rain in the southern states. Wet season hasn't really kicked in here yet.

Well Karen & I & kids got to meet another forum member on Sunday afternoon. Didge (Gerald) called in on his way home from Port Macquarry with his daughter. We have to thank him for that as it was a bit out of his way & he still called in & had atleast another 3 hours from here to get home..I have to appologise cause i forgot to ask use if you wanted a drink & KAREN said to say sorry if she sent you home with a headache as she is a little on the loud side & fast talking...
Gerald rang on Sunday morning when they where leaving Port But we where'nt quick enough to answer the phone SO i actualy rang the number back & after talking for a bit he said i'll give ya a call when where a bit closer but we never got it he had a doppy Dorris so just turned up..
I never got nervous at all & was looking forward to meeting them both I think thats because use all know my history which makes it easier on me ..:D:D
It was an honor & a plesure to meet you Gerald & your daughter & we thank you for going out of your way to call in , Thanks very much for that..

Well all and sundry, as Jason noted above I did pop in for a quick chat with my daughter and met, what my daughter and I said on the way home, was a wonderful and charming family. Jason looks like James Bond and believe me people Karen looks like one of the Bond girls; she isn't fat, she's a slip of a girl (woman) and they're just great fun to be around. Jason, when I said you reminded me of my cousins, yes that was a compliment mate; they're great people and so are you guys. We were all nice and relaxed and I couldn't believe how easily our conversation flowed. We didn't do that thing where you meet people and then don't know what to say next and have those awkward silences, it was all good. And how about those kids of yours, eh? I know why you call Micayla (did I spell that right?) Fred (Fabulous REDhead) and Cody (a nice young gentleman) - good luck with the footy mate and remember what dad's gonna call you when you're taller than him; what a pleasant, well mannered and delightful your kids are. Very impressive indeed; and I'd be proud to have them as my kids.
Guys, I'd have you lot as my neighbours any day of the week and anyone who doesn't want to know you is missing out themselves, like ya mate next door.
As for the cuppa, don't worry, we'd eaten and drunk not that long earlier so we were full. Headache, you kidding? Great to chat!!!!
Hey, you wouldn't believe it. Hayleigh (my daughter you met) has been looking to buy a Suzuki Swift and where does she see one advertised on Monday??? Wallsend! HA! How about that?
Anyway, next time we're passing, I'll give you a hoy and maybe I can meet Ausfree if he's not "On the buses" haha.
Anyhow take care and misbehave :)
cheers Gerald

Sorry I missed you Didge, I only live ten minutes from Banjo and if you came off the F3 you would have driven passed my house (sort off). Jason is easy to talk too once you know him and he is also very generous with his time and expertise if you have a Landy problem. Recently changed the oil in the rear diff on my FL1 and Banjo was only too happy to assist, easy enough job I know but Banjo made it look even easier.
Yeah, I am fairly tied up with the new job, but I can make arrangements most weekends (swap shifts) to meet anybody coming through the area. Next time I am up your way I will arrange to meet you.:)

Aus, I live in Sydney (1/2 way to Wollongong) and my outlaws are in Port Macquarie and we generally get up there most school holidays but probably won't be heading that way again for some months. Anyhow, next time any of you are in the south of Sydney, call in! And mate, you're right, Jason appears to be a real dab hand with a welder and spanner, isn't he?! He'd leave me for dead as a mechanic. Good neighbour to have, I reckon (not just for that but also cos they're just good guys)
I forgot to mention the kids could well be models - good looking pair they are :)
Dale, one day in the near future I HOPE to get up your way for a bit of an adventure and will no doubt call in for a cuppa and a chat, if you're available

Well, 700kms is certainly a bit of a side road isn't it, but hey, that's where the adventures usually happen, don't they. In fact, that's the sort of statistic that usually makes me more interested in getting off the main road. Can ya send me a map of exactly where you are; now I'm intrigued! Mind you, I won't be heading up that way for a while; gotta trip to the Cape planned first and whilst it is awfully tempting to then head west, unfortunately I'm not self employed and after 4 or so weeks would have to return to the place where they who crack the whip and pay with bread crumbs and water :(

Yeah breadcrumbs and water here too. :(
Its actually about 600kms of dirt with some black top at each end. Similar condition to the Gibb River Road I believe.
Have a look at Google Maps and 'Get Directions' from Katherine NT to Nhulunbuy NT. That will give you a decent idea of where we are.

Andrew, I am truly sorry for your loss, it is very devastating when somebody does this. The old saying is a "Permanent solution to a temporary problem". It is like throwing a pebble into a pool, the waves spread out and anything floating is effected. I guess what I am trying to say is that the devastation left behind on his friends and family would be huge. The question is "What goes through a persons mind when they consider it would be better for everybody if they were not here". I don't understand, you have to look at the effects of an action like this on people who care for you.
The only answer (as I see it) is that they feel so low, that other peoples considerations do not come into the equation. The depression is that bad that logical thoughts go out the window.:(

After that had to go down road to pay rent & get a few things ..Had to keep walking back to car as we forgot stuff ..
I also rang the hospital to make an appointment for fred to have a lung test to i did all that but had to fax the referal through ASAP so went & paid rent at bank then to realestate to ask them to fax it for us but yes we left the paper work in the car so back to the car yet again..
Then went to chemist to get Karens tablets made up & she wanted to goto the gym & i couldnt be bothered coming home then going back to get her so i went & paid & picked up karens tablets then went to the cheap shop as fred needed an A3 sketch book for school so i did that & then sat in the car for a bit but got to hot so went for a walk & got a drink then when karen had finished we went & picked fred up as cody walks his girlfriend home then we went back down road as they gave me the wrong script for karen ...
