Jason we got an ABN a couple of months ago as we do lots of spray painting vehicles, mainly friends from Harry's work:) They need to write it off in their books for their businesses. We seem to have a steady parts flow as we are contacted nearly every week by random people who want to sell:)

3rd & 4th pic are winnches.3rd is a PTO for a winch Thomas thats what i have on the front of green one..The last is a rear PTO use to run a huge belt for machinery.I think that pump mite be a hydrolic pump maybe. That thomas PTO also has the rear drive on it..The large shaft in the 1st pic is for the rear PTO drive..
Tony if i had the money i'd but it all off you as i love that sort of stuff around cause it gives me things to do..I have'nt had a landy engine for so long.Would like to rebuild another one.
I'd be real keen on the blue one to do what i said i just dont have the money or a way to get it home..IF I HAD THE ROOM & MONEY I'D BUY EVERYTHING OFF USE CAUSE ID FIX THE SWB UP CAUSE IVE NEVER OWNED ONE..

Tony those rear drives are rare they go on the rear Xmember where the hole is. on the outside of the chassis usualy have a belf running off it to a huge saw or bailer..Throw it on ebay some as for the overdrive.Start ya overdrive for about $300.& you can post it just need to box it up well..

Tony whats the rust like on the blue one.You took the overdrive off & your keeping the wheels & tyres off it to are'nt you ?..How much for it as is with the rims & tyres..I am interested but need to see how much to get it home.
You also have 3 sets of extractors off the 2.25 i seen in ya for sales you should ebay em to.they can be posted threw the post to.. You'll be serprised what you can post..throw the grills on ebay with postage. Also remember if you do scap body parts you get a bit more for them as they not like cans. Its all bermabright not just alloy so you get more.I cant remember what they buy it as now it mite come under shrewded alloyminium..& as for steal they must be paying ok for it cause look at all the scabs coming round for the rubbish collection..& i usualy ring an old guy he comes gets all my old metal.
Actualy you blue car would be perfect for Jim aswell.easy fix & could probably just use club rego.Plus he could use it to get his fire wood.

By the look of that big shaft in your pic i'd say it was with this & on a SWB.do you have the PTO off the gearbox for it or was it ran off the thomas one..
Actualy my PTO i think is off a toyota but made to fit the landy. The guy i brought the car off was so body it was'nt funny..Have you got the front shaft for the thomas PTO they are a steal shaft with a uni in middle & one at each end.

Karen has already said that she does'nt care if i fill the yard up with landys or bits cause i'd still be anal & have a clean & tidy yard no matter how much stuff i put in there..I just dont trust the owner he could evict us at anytime BUT he has said to us & the realestate he does'nt want us to leave as we look after the place & pay our rent on time every week..& i am looking into getting one of those herpy norman Garages there just a garden shed only 6 meters long by 3 meters wide & have the doors at the front. There not great BUT it would give me somewhere to work in all weathers..Plus another garden shed next to the one i put up already 3X3 meters would be just nice aswell..

the pto stuff i am keeping it all. bahahahaha it is hard to find that stuff.
i was probably hoping to get around $800 for the blue ute. the rust in it isnt too bad the door tops are rusty and a tiny bit in the chassis I dont really know i there is bog or not in the firewall it is all carpeted up. I could sell it to you for a bit less but still poses the problem as how to get it there as I dont really having a way of getting it there either unless I bought a land rover for parts nearby. let me know if your interested

Could be a tempting thought Jason. Let me catch up here, the blue ute has no motor and is undriveable I take it, so whoever buys it will have to arrange transport. How much work needs to be done on it to make it registerable, Tony??

Jim it has an engine but its stuffed I have a FULLY rebuilt red 202 to replace the crap 202..Thats all it needs & an engineers certificate & rego..Very easy fix & i cant see the engineers cert being to dear as its only the engine that needs it..So would need to get it towed here bout $200. then Engineer About $200 i think..So far thats only $1200.Then just ya blue slip $40 then ya green slip & put it in Mrs Aus's name for pension rego & you have a great work horse..I was really interested BUT KAREN said NO cause i have 2 rego's due soon.:(:(:(
So i recon it could all be done for under $2000. I am giving Tony the rebuilt engine outa Harry for it but if you buy it i will fit it all for you..Just need to get it here & thats only a matter of ringing a few or all the towtruck company's & getin the best tow price..It would be perfect for you Jim for your fire wood colecting..& the Guy round here for the BLUE slip is good we take all ours there..

My daughter lives at Moore Park Beach which is North of Bargara Beach and after ringing her she tells me they are flooded in, it is absolutely pouring rain and the winds are about 100k's an hour. Na don't feel bad about it..these things happen..I'm not worried about it at all..Have use got an old gearbox laying around. I need 1 of the 3 studs inside the T/case that holds it togeter with the gearbox. But i cant remember which one i broke & was going to take them outa that rebuilt box for use.But if use don't have an old one laying about i'll leave em there.I can get em just be to lazy to get em..There's 2 standard type studs & one which has a small end that goes into the gearbox but i just can't for the life of me remember which one i broke in the green car.Spode i could just leave it , it has'nt cause any trouble with it gone..

Problem is, up there, the whole area is so flat, therefore when a river floods the floodwater can go for miles!!:(

Um the bolts i kinda took em out of the box i have here already..:D
Just use the ones use have for it when use need to fit the box..
You will have to put the engine back in to run it..I squirt oil in the plug hole regulary to keep it from seizing up.So may blow smoke on first run.. to run it in just drive it normal for a bit a day then give it a bit then after a week give it to it.Should only take use a day & a half ish to pull old one out get the bit & put em on the new engine & get it all back in..The book i have is for a BLUE holden 202 but the settings are the same..i'll get it out tonight for you..I have other holden books but they are older ones.

Clutch bolts are'nt hard there half inch or 13mm.
The flywheel bolts are tight ther 5 eiths or 15mm.Breaker bar will get em.But it will still be fun.Jam a bit of timber threw the starter hole.
Other then that its pretty striaght forward. Before you start undoing everything but some timber blocks under the gearbox bellhousing , i usualy make them a tight fit that way the box front does'nt drop down to the Xmember. The hardest bit will be when you put the new engine back in lining it all up, the clutch & gearbox main shaft.IF you have an old box in bits use the main shaft out of it to line it all up when you bolt the clutch back on.If not use a bit off a broom handle about 5 inches long..
I also rebuilt the alternator on the engine but have'nt tested it at all..

I'm a little worried about that engine cause its sat here for so long..Just remember squirt a little oil in the sparkplug holes..The only problem i occured with the rebuild of it was one of the head bolts , One of the center ones striped the thread in the block, BUT i fixed it properly with a recoil & tools the engine machine shop lent me.& it did tension up properly..Its the first time i've ever used one for that..But it will be all fine i'm sure..Put it this way it will have some kick once use get it all going :D.

You know those little plastic thingys that are the moving bit in the bonnet hinge... ?
Mine keep breaking - splitting right in half!
Have you had that problem? I have started a thread in the series 3 area but thought I may as well come and ask 'the oracle'.

we did notice the engine was quite hard to turn over by hand. But i guess we will know soon.
In reply to drifter we have never split them but occasionally had them fall out. Are you sure you are putting them on right as I thought from memory you can put them on back to front but it puts alot of pressure on them

Na i've never had trouble with them spliting..I did have one slide out all together .I put them in first then sit the bonnet on them , Just undo the bonnet holder first ..

Yup - that's what I do - undo the bonnet holder. Lift the bonnet vertical. Go to the business end - lift one side - slide out the old broken bits, slide in a new one, lower the bonnet into the hinge. Do the same for the other side. Lower bonnet.
Lift bonnet. Close firmly. Pick up broken bit off hinge. Start again :)

what a long night last night was. left narrabri at tad after 10pm and got home a tad after 1.30am. there was quite a storm most of the way and got the crap scared out of me when a branch fell on the side of the road and had to swerve a little to miss it.
Most people were speeding both on the way there and back, it really annoys me. They get inpatient when I am sitting on 100 in a 100 zone. Even most of the trucks past me when I was doing 100 which is even worse and its annoying when they sit up your bum with their lights shining through.
anyway I got home and straight to bed.

Occasionally TV shows such as "A current Affair" have talked about towns where you can get ahouse for $10,000 or less.
I remember one featured town where you could purchase a house block for one dollar. Only catch was you had to start biulding your house within two years.
You could get a house on the New England highway north of Armadale for only $20,000 twenty years ago--I do forget the name of that town-- we considered it ourselves back then.
These were towns where every one moved away, and they looked like becoming Ghost towns. And so the locals were promoting these towns to try to keep the town going.
Good luck in finding the right one. I do think buying a cheap house is better idea than renting, John.

Just inside of the door to the actual museum itself, there is a coffee shop and souvenir shop just outside the museum entrance. Once inside I spotted this LandRover Series 2a with a recoilless rifle mounted on it!!:D
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2013/02/486.jpg
There was also an Iriqious helicopter inside the building!!:D I remember having a ride in one of these when I was in the CMF in the late 1960's!!

I took quite a few photo's and here is one of an excellent example of a 19th century Gatling gun used by our soldiers in the early years, apparently the navy had them mounted on some of its ships!!
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2013/02/488.jpg
Afterwards we stopped at Singleton Park to get some piccies of the Matilda Tank that has been there for a number of years, I see they have spruced it up with a new coat of paint.!!

Hey guys, how is everyone?
Jim, I was looking with interest at your photos of the Iriquois helicopters, as I used to get rides in them when I was a techo in the Williamtown Air Base control tower, back in the late 60's.
One thing caught my eye was a spelling mistake in the description of the Army unit in Singleton, (Matilda Place), can you find it?
Heaps of rain here again, Gympie may be in for another local flood, hope not, the local business people have had 4 in three years, must be a real pain for them, although they know what to do now to prepare for these events.
Kind regards
Brian

Yep, we have already picked it out Brian, the fourth line from the bottom, the word "strength" is mispelt. Isn't it funny how mispelt words seem to jump out at you.:D Actually after having another look at the sign, the word "Regiment" is spelt as "Reciment", really the sign is a disgrace and should be taken down and corrected!!

Brian, I think you might remember we discussed flying in the Iriqious helecopters in the late 1960's, I was a Sargent on Bofors at the time and we put a defensive ring of AA guns around Williamtown Airbase, we dug the guns in and camouflaged them (or so we thought) and they took us up in the air in the Iriqious to have a look at our attempts at camouflaging..........well, we were shocked, the guns stood out like you know what.:o The white sand that we dug into didn't help at all against the green grass!!:D

Gday Jim, I discounted that Regiment as if you look close, it is a G, with a very small extra horizontal mark to differentiate it from a 'c'.
My bad, I just re-read it and you are right, there are several other regiments spelt correctly.
Yes, I do remember our discussion, long time ago eh!

HHHHMMMMMM not sure what that would be .Whats the oil like on the dipstick..It may just be a loose bolt on one of the front covers As i dont tighten fully till i have them back in the car..& there was not water contamination what so ever before i rebuilt it.I'll have to think about that one.

here should'nt be any water in the oil at all.. The only thing that i encounted when building it was one of the centre head bolts was striped & i drilled it & taped it & put a recoil in it or rethread..& was told & sold the bits from an engine building shop..That may have come loose but i cant see it happening... Before i i even pulled the car apart i was driving it to move it around a bit & there was nothing in the oil at all..Its got me worried now..

Jase, there are other people you can go to for home loans besides Banks and Building societies. They are called Low/Doc or Non Conforming loans, the interest rate is higher by about 1 to 2% but their lending criteria is more lenient than the Banks.
Here is a link to one example but I am not saying go to them, do a Google Search!!:D:D
Non Conforming Loans - Specialist Lending Solutions (http://www.nonconformingloans.com.au/)
Another example that I Googled up...

It saves getting the engine crane out just to move the engine around..Its crappy but will do the job.The wheels are crap ones i had laying around here there to small & just crap quality so will replace with some better ones & bigger later on down the track..
