Hello All,
I had a late afternoon message on my mobile from the contact lens specialist on Friday. I rang them up today (Monday) and my contacts are ready for me in Brisbane.
The catch is that the specialist is going on holiday and is fully booked out between today and right up to the 2nd week after his return. Oh, that is August the 11th by the way. Arrrrgggghhhhh
Once I get them I will start the build up from half an hour of wearing the lenses per day. Then six weeks after my trip on August 11th I have to go back to make sure the contacts are still compatible with my eyes.
Apparently, the lenses can cause the eye to change shape and this means that the clearances have changed between the eye and the lenses. This could result in my needing a different set of lenses being made. Or in other words back to square one.
I am patient - I am so patient - I am a very patient person - NOT Arrrrgggghhhhh :eek::eek::eek::twisted::twisted::twisted:
Kind Regards
Lionel

Ok so a bit of an update. I've sorted the Subaru out for Karen.
Karen is still getting very tired & I worry about her since she won't take anymore time off work. We go back to the specialist on the 19th of next month. Karen also has an appointment to see our gp on Monday as she now has shingles back. Appently you never get rid of them once you've had them. Karen always has a couple of large spots all the time just under breast height. But this time she has them they are very dark very large & already halfway around her body.
Also I had a phone call from Jim today. We getting visitors on Saturday V8 Ian calling in to pick up the wheels. So I nervousness plus I just worry anyway. Lol.

I have been playing an old song that while nothing of legend has some lyrics that are significant to me during my states of unemployment and -ness.
Toni Childs' voice might grate on some people, so you have been warned ...
I hope some people will enjoy the song :)

Hello All,
At last it is August! Now there are only 10 more dark sleeps until I jump on the Bundaberg to Brisbane Tilt Train and choof-off at 5:00 AM to go and get fitted with my new Scleral lenses! :D
Then from 1:00 pm on the 11th of August, I can start wearing the new lenses from 1/2 an hour on the first day, an hour on the second day; an hour and a half on the third day ...
Then on the 22nd of September I have to go back to Brisbane for a check-up to see if my eyes and my new contact lenses are still compatible.
If they are I will need a check-up six months after that.
Then if things are still okay it is back to having only an annual check - cross fingers!
Only 10 more dark sleeps - I must be patient ... I must be patient ...
Kind Regards

Hello Mrs HH,
No I don't see a 101 amongst my collection. They are just a section of Land Rover Land that I have not looked at before. I also venture into the Series 2 & 2A section and also the Series 1 area. However I don't intend to get either type. I happy to stay close to Series 3 ownership and hopefully expand one day into Discovery Land.
At the moment I have a period of needing to be patient and I have time on my hands.

Apologies for my absence. I have been quite busy with uni work.
At my college I have been appointed Community project manager which is quite exciting and very busy. Our first project is a community garden that links us with a local primary school. It is a lot of hard work when you have no money and need to chase up donations and grants on offer.
I have just finished an assignment which requires us to create an Eportfolio which we build on throughout our degree. Mine is very basic but the first step of getting it setup has been done. If anyone gets bored here is the link eportfolio (http://tonyschmierer.wix.com/eportfolio)

Hi everyone. We have been busy with the celebrant finalising our ceremony. That's done now. Fred brought herself a new car it's a 2006 commodore very nice well looked after car. I'll put some pics up of it today when I put the computer on. Not sure how to do it with the Ipody thing. Been up since 4 this morning. Have a really bad migraine. It's from my neck , I've been having a lot of trouble with it also my eyes as my sunglasses are so badly scratched can hardly see threw them so I am on & off with them a lot outside & it's been sunny for a change. Also been playing with my hammock seeing which best suits me for set up. Karen hasn't been very well either. She is getting very tired now & sleeps of an afternoon then can't sleep of a night. We don't think the new tablets are doing anything. We go back to the specialist on the 18th of this month so hopefully he will be able to help with something.

Ok. So last week we had mum & Graham call in. There back from there hold up north &NT. So we told them we was get in married but told them that NO ONE was invited just have Karen & I the 2 witnesses needed & the kids that's it. That what we want & how we want it. Plus we have been together 28 years.
Well Monday she ( mother) turns up after her ten pin bowling. Karen was still at work. She says to me when use getting married. I said the 27th end of next month. She says oh so it's not next week. No end of next month. Oh don't tell graham then he asked me when is Jason getting married she said something he said are we going. No are you going no. Well he's your son your his mother we will be going. She said so graham is gate crashing it. & Karen & I both know it's not something he would of said. He wouldn't give a toss either way. She just blaming it on him so she can get what she wants that's all it is.
By now Karen is home & she tell her the same story worded different.
Anyway by the time she was going something was said about the wedding & we said just us & the witnesses that's it. She was all & two more with all smiles & laughs as if she was invited.
So for the second time around we mite be cancelling the ****ing wedding again because of family.
We are so over this ****ing family it's not funny. Every time she calls in it's all about her she has done it or been there & knows everything & just all the bull**** that falls out go her mouth.
Well now I'm thinking of stirring the ****ing pot. I'm on face page & so is my 2 sisters & when ever I put something on there they run to mother about it. So I'm thinking I'm going to post up.
WELL WE CANT HAVE WHAT WE ****ING WANT FOR OUR DAY SO ITS ALL OFF CANCELED.
We are just so over it with her.
I like prospecting & gold detecting & have been into it for quiet awhile. I'm a member of a couple of groups but I just can't afford to buy the equipment. I have been on the minlab mailing list for so long that I was getting the paper copy of the newsletter sent out before they went the email copy that's how long I've been into it. But she has done a little bit of fossicking & now she knows everything about it & I know absolutely nothing.
Plus there is just other **** she comes out with. All to make her look the absolute best person in the world so she can say to everyone oh I did this or that for them.
That's pretty much how it is for us & that's where we are at.

G'day All,
Well this is Day Two of wearing my new Scleral contact lenses. My left eye has taken to them like a duck to water. It only took two goes to get it in. During the first attempt some of the saline fluid must have come out of the lens so it had an air bubble and I could not see properly. The lens came out really easily. I filled the lens back up and pop in it went.
The right eye well that is a whole different story. Despite my prising the lids open I cannot put the lens anywhere near the eye without blinking as soon as the lens gets anywhere close to the eye. I had it in 3 times within 3/4 of hour's worth of attempts. Each time I scored an air bubble. I figured giving myself an hour before an appointment in town would be plenty of time - wrong. I actually put my old lens in the right eye because I had to drive. I got back home took the old lens out and waited an hour. I tried a different technique and I got the new contact in second go, without any air bubbles. Then a while later my eye started to hurt so I tried to get the lens out. It took numerous attempts to get the lens out so now I have a swollen eye. I never - ever had such troubles with my old lenses - well before they started to attack my eyes.
It looks like I might have to give the right eye a break tomorrow until it settles down.
Hopefully I will learn the correct technique and my right eye will begin to play nice. I watched the recommended how to insert & remove Scleral lenses YouTube videos and my right eye will have none of it. You would think the trouble free technique for the left eye would work on my right eye since they are both my eyes - nope. Accessed 14th of August from, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fTAW_HAN2Y
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0xO9bZsTnU
I wonder if there is a surgical instrument that prises eye lids open and keeps them apart - that could be the trick. Once the lens is in the right eye I could just take the instrument away - bingo!
Anyway, they reckon practice makes perfect. I just hope Day 3 finds me has me finding the fail-proof, sure fire method of insertion for my right eye.
P.S. it is 11:45 pm and I am just back from the Emergency Centre of the hospital because I looked at why my right eye was sore. I will be back to the hospital tomorrow and then off to the eye specialist - bugger!
P.P.S I have spent three hours in the Emergency Department of the hospital today - Friday and I have been referred to the eye specialist whom I can see at 8:00 Monday morning. Until then I have to keep my right eye as a contact lens free place - bugger, not happy Jan.
This morning with my left eye I put the same sized scleral lens in first go. There was no trouble fitting it, or even the slightest hesitation at all. You would think since both eyes are attached to the same head there would not be so much difference between either eyes.
Kind Regards
Lionel

G'day All,
I am back from the Ophthalmologist and I just have to put drops in my right eye for a couple more days. After that I can start taming the right contact lens again. Or it will begin taming me again
My left contact lens was described as a "wonderful fit" and I could read the smallest line on the eye chart :)
With my left eye that is, my right eye reading the eye chart was a totally different story
Oh well they reckon practice makes perfect. I sure have more respect for these type of lenses now as I know from first-hand experience that they can bite! Plus they have VERY Big teeth too!

Hello All,
Tomorrow marks my ability to wear my new right lens again after I damaged my eye with it last Thursday. Today marks my wearing my left contact lens successfully for a week :D :banana:.
Notice only two dancing bananas not my usual complement of 3 joyous dancing bananas. I am reserving that for marking weeks of being able to successfully insert and remove both lenses.
I think I may have a new ritual too. That of taking out the contact lenses at around 2:30 in the afternoon since putting them in early in the morning. I have had to take out the left lens and clean it then put it back in two afternoons in a row. Looks like the era of putting in the lenses in the morning and only taking them out until after 11 at night is a thing of the past. With the old, smaller lenses they could be blinked, turned or slightly rubbed to clear any gunk from under the lens. Then it would clear up.
The new lenses are much bigger and they are a much better fit - dust-proof and water proof in fact. The only disadvantage is that they are not self-cleaning within the eye.
I am looking forward to be able to ride my treadly again and not being smote down by a minuscule speck of dust. A speck of dust can be a small particle of stone that gets trapped between the hard contact lens and proceeds to scratch and cut the surface of the cornea. I have been there and done that! It is not a fun thing to have happen while cars and trucks are whizzing by.
I am a big bloke. at 185 cm tall and I have been dropped on my arse numerous times with a speck of dust under my old lenses. Then you proceed to claw at your eye just because of a speck of dust that would fit on the point of a pin. It is not a fun or pleasant thing to happen; one has to remain calm while taking the lens out saying to oneself, "don't panic - breathe, remain calm while removing the lens - breathe". I really hope the new lenses live up to their dust-proof reputation.
One time I stopped a railway official to ask for directions in Brisbane and the lady was really nice to me. Exceptionally kind and very understanding. When I walked away I worked out why. I must have had a speck of dust in my eye and it was streaming a line of tears down my face. I didn't feel it at the time. I touched my face while walking away and realised what had happened. The fun of wearing my old contact lenses. There I was a bearded big bloke with my suitcase on wheels asking directions. With tears streaming down my face; I must have looked a sight!
So far with my left eye the new, larger scleral lens has been great and really comfortable to wear. I just have to master the correct technique with my right eye starting tomorrow
Kind Regards
Lionel

Lionel

G'day Jason,
Very good mate :clap2::clap2::clap2: It took me a while to work it out!
I can tell you that the lenses are transformational - maybe not that much though. :p
I am wearing two contact lenses at the moment
I really have to get the technique sorted out for my right eye, as it took a lot of effort and many attempts just to get the lens in. So no dancing bananas today :(. No eye damage though

G'day Jerry,
Going off Ausfree's location block and GoogleMap the distance via the Pacific Highway between Collaroy and Jim is 128 clicks or 1 hour and 44 minutes.
Distance from Sydney Domestic Arrivals Rd, Mascot NSW 2020 to Collaroy via M1 and A8 is 33.1 kilometres or 55 minutes.
I hope you both don't mind me answering - I have to admit being bored. It is raining :) but it means that I cannot play with Batty. Both eyes are working with both contacts in :p Right eye is still not playing nice though when I try and get the lens in.

How're the peepers coping Lionel, settling down?
G'day Ian,
Thanks for the post. Status would be - pretty good so far; touch wood. I can get the left contact lens in usually within three attempts. With the right eye I am still learning to master the technique. Or it is mastering me :)
While the lenses are in they are great, it is very busy seeing properly again. The amount of data involved in the texture of different things all at once within the field of view is a bit overwhelming when the lenses are first put in. Multiple blurs from the past series of months consist of a lot less data for the brain to processes.
The lens removal process is also still at the learning stage and improvements can be made with the current techniques.
My levels of angst towards putting the right contact lens in is lessening each day. The number of attempts and amounts of saline fluid is also starting to slowly drop in amount. Levels of frustration and the frequency of rude words is also declining ;) Jack the Border Collie still becomes scarce during contact lens insertion time as he has delicate ears and is rather timid.
Kind Regards
Lionel

G'day Jerry,
Thanks for your concern, however unlike the smaller lenses, that fit over the iris, with these new scleral lenses my eye would have to fall out too. That might make it a bit easier to find the lens :D
With my old smaller lenses, well that was a whole different story! :( I sure had been there and done that trying to find a small lens in a very big environment while being blind at the time - no not fun, at all at all.

Hello Ian,
The left eye is solid and righteous; while the right eye is a complete scaredy cat. Especially when the contact lens and the solid insertion thimble is homing in towards it!:eek::eek: So I blink and that means the lens does not go in. Or I move my head away and I try and insert the contact lens on to my eye brow - nose - ear
I am pleased to note that today I got the right eye in on the 2nd attempt & the left eye in on the 1st attempt. So that is my best result so far :)
I still have the feeling of trepidation grip my chest before sitting down to start putting the lenses in. I will be glad when this does not occur.
So considering the last paragraph :banana:I am not up to the three dancing bananas yet.
Kind Regards

We still here. Sorted out the wedding stuff now. Karen has been back to specialist to find out absolutely nothing..getting sic of this guy fast. Karen has been getting realy bad gut pains so he put her back on nexium. That's the one they give for ulcers. Not kicking in yet. Plus she is still very very tired & sleeps for a few hours of an afternoon. Doesn't sleep well of a night though. Has a 4 day weekend at the moment as Mondays job is on hold while they away. 2 more weeks I think. I'm thinking Bugga the kids after we get married I mite take Karen away even if it's just overnight. Maybe go upto Barrinton tops. Disco need a tune bad plus the tail pipe needs to be fixed still. Karens little car is going good. Fred still loves her new car. I've been on Facebook a fair bit as I joins a bushcrafting group. I also put myself way way outside of my comfort zone a week ago Friday just been. We've been talking to a lady on Facebook & she kept asking so when we going to have a cuppa. Well I invited her over for a cuppa. Got realy nervous but all went well. Had cuppa & yanked for a few hours. That's something I would never do so did it. The group I'm in for bushcrafting has a trading site so have been trading some of my stuff that I don't use for things I will. Also thinking I mite after the wedding jump in the deep end & go on one of the hikes they have.
So that's where we are. We still plodding along slowly.

Well where still here. Only 17 days Togo. Also brought a new toy. I've or we have been looking for one for ages & it's perfect timing to since the wether is warming up. We brought a 12 foot fibreglass canoe. Found on gumtree for $80. I asked how much would it be if they could drop it off as I can't put on disco racks as there plastic & cracked the only thing holding them together is the awning bolted to the legs. There all plastic legs & the joins are plastic in the alloy. So they said yeah sure $100. We said great. They was going to drop off yesterday but got held up but they are coming this afternoon at 5. So I be fishing on the lake this summer. The lake is only minutes away from us so it's great. Karen said she will come out sometimes & is happy to set the awning up & sit & read in the peace & quiet. Karen even said well now you can look at a hood for it cause we had seen some. I'll put some pics up as soon as I workout how to do it using the ipad.

Well I've been quiet worried about Karen lately. She is always feeling very sic & still very tired. She went to the doctors yesterday. It's the new medication making her feel sic. It's the same as the steroids but without some of the side effects & is what's making her feel so sic & why she can't shift any of the weight she has on. So that's why the specialist has put her back on the nexium to try & counter that. The doc also looked at all her blood tests & said they are better but not right. He also looked at her leg where it got banged up in the accident as there is still a large lump there. He said they will have to looking into that further as it's a blood clot. He also told her she shouldn't be working at all but she won't listen. I'm trying to get her to just do one or maybe 2 jobs a week but she won't hear of it. Her liver is dieing off that's why her body is trying to get rid of it. It's just not getting any better. Though it does run in her family her aunts had to have a kidney transplant & her dad has bad kidney & liver. Also Karens not eating very well. Sleeps for upto a few hours each day. Still can't sleep well of a night even if she forces herself to stay awake threw the day. She's not happy that she has put on a little weight & can't move it. Can't do any of her exercises on the weights or treadmill.
We paid the last $50 on the celebrant on Tuesday so it's all done now just the formalities left on the Saturday.

You have been quiet, Lionel. What's the latest!!!!:(
G'day Jim, Ian and Pop058,
The eyes have been going okay. Well that is when the right lens and my right eye do not attack each other and instead they play nicely with each other. I have had two trips to the Emergency Department of two different hospitals. Touch wood, the extraction stage - when the damage has been done, is getting itself sorted out with practice. The right contact lens is still a sod to get in. Once both lenses are in though they are really great to wear. Unlike my old smaller lenses these big Scleral lenses are very dust-proof.
It seems like I will be needing reading glasses as the type of lenses I have are meant to get me seeing very well at the 6 metre eye chart stage. The lenses are not bifocal so to be able to get my right eye reading computer screens and books it is either a set of reading glasses, or a monocle. :p
I have started a new job. Yesterday, Friday the 3rd of October marked the finish of week 4 on the job. I have three months of probation that could then extend until June 30th 2015. If the Feds are still playing nice to the university sector I may be signing a 3 year contract in July 2015.
Basically, I could be given the flick any time between now and the 8th of December - the end of my Probation period; or given the flick on June 30th when the current Federal 3 year long funding round ceases. I will be not the only one in this position as every other contract researcher at work will be in the very same boat at the end of June. Bearing these factors in mind, I am looking at this job as one three month contract (8th December); that may lead to a further 6 months of work (30th of June 2015); that could grow into a 3 year contract (30th June 2018). After that 3 year period comes to a close the same uncertainty will revisit the scene when the next 3 year Federal funding cycle comes around again. There are some researchers that have been here for 15 years who have 5 lots of experiencing 30th of June coming around under their belt's.
I am a Research Assistant at a university not located in Bundaberg. Other than that my location will be revealed in the goodness of time. Probably around the second week of December when I learn if I am packing the car up, hitching a trailer and heading back to Bundaberg, or not.
With settling into the new set of contact lenses and into a new job in a new location I took Leave of Absence from my PhD until the end of October. This means I am looking at finishing the never ending story in the early 2015 - sigh.
So that is about it from this neck of the woods.
Kind Regards
Lionel

We would make a great pair, I am getting fitted out for hearing aids next Thursday week. so with you being half blind and me being half deaf, what a pair we would make.
My hearing is OK in most cases but I have trouble hearing at certain wavelengths (higher pitch such as a woman or a young person talking, or in crowded situations I can't zero in on you if you are talking to me) so hearing aids nowadays can be programmed for the wavelengths you need. Also such things as blue tooth, stereo sound etc are available on the aids.
I also suffer with permanent tinnitus and it sounds like a heard of locusts are there all the time. Can be draining at times.

G'day donh54. I'm guessing you have something to do with the trucking industry. Fortunatley bussies are a bit better off in regard to hours worked. We do, however now have problems in OTR ( on time running) whereby you are not allowed to be more than 2 minutes early or 6 minutes late at the start of a run. This is ridiculous because in a lot of cases if you start a run late (within reasonable times) you can pick up the times during the run.
Every two weeks the bus driver is issued with a report and he must be within 95% OTR.for the two weeks. Needless to say this put unnecessary pressure on the driver.
As far as I'm concerned, at my age, they can get STUFFED.

There's some in the Harry thread in a blue stage one someone posted for me. Mowed the lawn today & managed to put my right hand threw the whipper snippet Karen was being nice & started the mowing & I stopped to say go up here first & held the wip nip in my left hand with the spiny bit behind me then swung my right hand behind me saying to Karen to start up there & it went straight into the spiny bit. They make a mess for something that's good for doing the edges around tyres or trees. Ah well a couple of fingers & the inside of my wrist will be black by morning I recon. When we finished the lawns we had lunch then I went & sanded some more panels. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend I'll have everything sanded & possibly in primer except for the baulked.

Hello All,
I am writing this little note from Bundaberg = home; from where I am until flying back to my new workplace on Sunday. I visited the eye specialist on Wednesday to check the amount of clearance between my new lenses and my eyes. I got the all clear from the specialist; in fact the words "perfect fit" were used! :)
With the distance vision set at the 6 metre mark of eye charts I can read the bottom line independently with each eye. Now that the distance part of my vision is stabilised I only have to go to a chemist and buy a set of magnification x 2 so I can read computer screens and books with my right eye. Apparently the new contact lenses are for distance vision and I am lucky that it also corrects my left eye so I can read books and computer screens. My right eye still needs the x 2 glasses to read things up close.
Just like Jim and his new bionic ears I have to build up getting my right eye reading things up close again as it has left all the close work up to my left eye. I am thinking about getting a monocle for reading as my left eye does not need any magnification at all. "Hogannnnn!!!!" Oh that bit refers to what Colonel Wilhelm Klink used to say ...
Well that is it for me for the moment.
Kind Regards
Lionel

Lionel, how's the sight and new job going?
And Jim, how about your bionic ear'oles? ;)
G'day V8 Ian,
I think the contact lenses and my eyes are growing used to each other. Sometimes I can actually put each lens in with only one attempt. Other times maybe they go in within 5 attempts. Most of those attempts are all successfully under the eyelids and there are just air-bubbles in them. This means the lens has to come out and it has to be filled up with the saline again before making another attempt.
I learned a trick about using a different type of saline to wet the eye before trying to take the lenses out. I worked out that I cannot use the blinking technique that had successfully worked with the old lenses for 15 years. That technique and the new lenses turned out to be a recipe for disaster and it has been hard to break old habits. I have not had to have a third trip to the emergency department of a hospital because things did not go well while trying to take the lenses out... Touch wood.
On the job front - hmmm next topic .
Well December the 8th is rapidly approaching and that is when my probationary period finishes. Having a diagnosis of Asperger's I might be reading too much into things that have happened here. So I will wait and see how things turn out. It just so happens that the decision may be made the day after my 52nd birthday in December. I am highly critical of my own performance; that comes from being an Aspie, and I have been doing the best I am capable of. I have been working some killer hours to improve my chances of being retained. It will not be through lack of trying - my prospects of success? ... Cross fingers. I can in all honesty walk away from this job knowing I have given it my best shot.
This Monday just gone also marked my official return to nocturnal PhD studies. Nothing like adding a bit more pressure and couple more turns of the vice handle to make things just that little more intense and interesting - teehee!
Kind Regards
Lionel

Hello All,
Well I reckon I have reached the stage where I have a full license for putting in, wearing and taking out the new style of contact lenses. Touch wood.
Only two visits to the hospital emergency centre over trying to sort out how to wear the lens for the right eye. Or should I say the contact lens sorted me out with a couple of hard lessons to learn!
I hope that everything is going okay for Jason and Karen = other members of AULRO.
Well bye for now.

Well I had a bit of a panic attack yesterday. I got chest pains then they went up under my chin & jaw. Sent me into a panic. They didn't last long at all under 5 minutes but long enough to panic me. Karen looked on the net & it doesn't look like a heart attack but it maybe angina so looks like it's a blood test for me. Karen has a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon so she will sort it out for me. Can get it done at home so that's good but I not going to docs for the results karen can do that I think they will find lots more so don't want to know.

I'm probably well over due for a blood test haven't had one in years. They worry me as I don't want to know what's wrong. But I'm so sic of these panic attacks. I have had these chest pains before not regularly but I have had them before. It does say on the net Karen said for angina that if you smoke don't. Hhhhmmm so hard to quit I think they just as bad a drugs. But I think I may have to stop somehow. I guess we're just at that age where things start to go wrong or things start to show.

G'day Jason. Yeah Angina can be confused with a heart attack. Get yourself checked out mate and follow up. I get Reflux which starts off as a pain in the chest and then its like battery acid trying to come up your throat. I control it with a drug called Pariet.
Reflux comes on after I have a heavy meal particularly with meat. Drinking water eases the pain.
Anyrate take care and "follow up" on doctors tests, it may save your life as what happened to me ten years ago when I came down with bowel cancer. Following up saved my life.

Ok so karen went to the doctors on Monday. He said that he's not going to do a blood test just yet & make more stress for me. He said it's probably nothing but if it happens again karen has to write it down in a diary as we can only be certain that it's only happened once before so for now we just keep a diary of it if it happens again. He said he's only 43 if he was 50 or over then he would of sent me straight away. Karen said to him but he smokes he drinks he eats what he wants. He said ahwellif he is enjoying it so be it its not like he can work or goes out much. BUT he did give Karen a script for me for the reflux so I started those on Tuesday its called APO-PANTOPROZOLE 40mg. So I guess I'm on these for ever , I don't think I've had heartburn or the burning up my throat or the small regurgitating I call (mini spew into my throat ) since being on them. So alps good now.
Oh I've been working on Harry all the panels are now all in primer bar the baulkhead which I'm doing now & making some mods to. Then I'll sand & prime it then I'll start painting them all. Have to find a secondhand accelerator pedal out of an early defender I think 200tdi.

I've tried on cutting back on it as I don't like taking drugs at all, but after cutting back my reflux came back. You have to take it as (I believe) reflux puts a strain on your heart.
Anyrate you will find the reflux will ease off and you may get twinges every now ( rarely in my case)and then after a heavy meal. A drink of water eases the pain.:)
p.s. Just reread your post Jase and I note your tabs are 40mg, mine are 20mg.

Well, after talking to people who have installed solar panels and also to another rep from a solar company, I'm not going ahead with it. We simply don't use enough power and it would take nearly ten years to recoup my costs, before I come out in front.
Was an interesting exercise though. I'm glad I looked into it, because I now know a lot more about solar panels. A major concern also is the gummit keeps changing the goal posts.

Hello All,
Back on the 6th of September I spent Leeann and my 28th Wedding Anniversary in a different part of Australia as to where my darling wife was. At the time I was driving down south from Bundaberg to start a new job two days later, in parts unknown.
Leeann is down here for a holiday so Christmas will be a lot better than the 28th anniversary.
Well it looks like my 3 month work contract has stretched into a 6 month contract after it was extended until March 8th 2015. There is a chance of work after that which could take me up to the end of June. After that who knows???
It is nice to have money in the bank after getting paid for working in an area that is within my chosen field.
I was visited by some old mates - stress and anxiety, at work which affected my performance for a while. Yes the two bedfellows that lurk around with Asperger's Syndrome. Hmmm living by myself, new town, new job, don't know anyone outside of work and concentrating my spare time on getting my PhD finished too. Funny how my two old mates popped up!
The new contact lenses are going okay too. As long as I do not accidentally put them in the wrong eye! The new lenses are not colour coded like the old ones were - blue tint = blue has "l" in it so it is the "left" lens. Green has 'r" in it so it is the .... lens; whereas the new lenses are both clear - bugger!
Gee I miss not having a Series III Land Rover to play with - hmmm should I say ... to work on and drive
This time last year - Christmas Eve afternoon 2013, I received a telephone call from my eldest brother saying that our father had a heart attack at home and was in the ambulance on his way to the hospital. About two hours later I had a telephone call saying that our father had died. Vale Russell John Evans
Well I hope everyone has an enjoyable Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2015.
Kind Regards
Lionel

Well our Christmas was as usual mother & graham called in for an hour that's it for us. Just a very quiet day. It turned very sour in the afternoon for us though. Fred got the ferrets up & when it was time for them to goto bed we had lost Lucy. Karen & Fred where devistated she must of got outside while I went out for a smoke. Lucy means a lot to this family as use know Fred has a lot of anxieties aswell & we went through a very hard time with her so Lucy was our savvier for Fred. Even I was upset about not having or seeing Lucy as I look after them every morning while everyone goes to work or school. Christmas night we where up till 1 in the morning looking for her & it was cool & raining so I had my doubts as to her survival out in it. The next day we where still looking for her all day & late into the night same as the next day & night.
And Bugga me lastnight about 10 we heard a noise on the back door I got up off the lounge to go tell the dogs to get off the bloody door. But once I got close to the door I couldn't see the dogs anywhere so I steped a little faster & turned the outside light on to see our little Lucy scratching on the door to get our attention was so happy she was here & alive. We called Fred straight away as she was at SAMs the boyfriends she came home straight away.
It would of been her third night out alone last night. We where very worried to say the least.
Also the day before Christmas karen had to have a mammogram & an ultrasound as she has had a sore breast. She goes back on Tuesday to find out. Has small lumps & one dark patch in the X-rays so we are hoping it's just a sist. Will keep use all upto date as we find out.
I have also been working on Harry & I am now just doing the last panel for primer the bulkhead that's it then they will all be painted.

It's funny how animals are ferrets don't make much noise so it's hard for them to communicate. A dog barks or wingers & a cat meows. I've never seen or heard of a ferret ever coming back home after being lost. She got our attention by scratching the door. She once got to the top of a cupboard here & couldn't get down so started pushing things off to get our attention. She's very special to us & has helped Fred to no end. So glad she is home again.
