A 22-year-old man from Sorrento has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being caught driving a motorised esky down a major Perth road.
Police from Hillarys arrested the man at 8:00pm on Friday on West Coast Drive outside the Sorrento Surf Club.
It is alleged the esky contained alcohol at the time.

Ah its fine under ground. Just let the person with the biggest muscle go first. As they cant squish through the tight squeezes. And if they can fit then we all follow.

My first trip into a new cave i just take my little camera. But when i go back i normally take my big one and lots of other gear. All my mates love to haul it though for me.

Both the previous shot and this one were taken at the Bungonia Caves in NSW.

We took some xmas lights. With a 40m ascent ahead of us and two ropes coming down. I got the girls to stagger their climb for the photo.

I would love to be there to learn off the rescue guys. I've done 2 cave rescues and work on ropes in confined and tight spaces. So always wanting to learn new skills and test out what i know. But wow this is scary. At least he can walk a bit which will help the rescuers. He still needs to be hauled up over 1km. Even climbing that distance on ropes by yourself is a killer. Let along a dead weight.

Here is a picture of where he is stuck in the cave, along with the markings of the base stations they have set up to use as a safe rest point.

Correct, Its the bottom of the Acoustic Pot. Now that's a fun cave. I love the rock curtains that you breath in and shimmy your way through at the bottom of the pitch. And its so dry. As i am from Vic, most of my caving is out Buchan way and you get dirty and wet in there.

The sales pitches in these internet ads will usually state that the car is in "immaculate condition" implying that it was stored in a climate controlled underground salt cave, daily washed with Scandanavian glacier water and looked after by a team of ex-nasa rocket engineers 24/7. Yes it was driven in the City and stuck 90% in traffic, no, it did not feature in a bruce willis car escape scene or used to race against over-excited teenagers from middle eastern backgrounds in Wrx's. Yes there are a few very minor claw marks on the bonnet and no, the car has never been keyed by an ex-lover in a jealous rage that she no longer travels in the Beast.
This car is not for a Greenie type of buyer hence its 2 green stars. Though it does not chew the Juice that badly, as its a diesel. If you are worried about that you should get a Prius or an electric bike mate. Its also not for the conservative Family types who sing Christian love songs while all driving together to a Hillsong Sunday concert. Think Honda Odessy or Prado. Nor is it for the wanna be pole dancer Cougars wearing over sized Chanel glasses filling up this Diesel Machine with unleaded petrol 95. Stick to driving a Range Rover Evoque to your next botox appointment. This is the last of the old school

Yes it is indeed the Coober Pedy Opal Fields Golf course, a dirt/sand (and oily) course with some small patches of astroturf on some tee blocks. The course crosses the local cricket ground on one hole and the photo with the "keep off the grass" sign is taken looking back down the first hole over the scrape towards the tee block and clubrooms etc

The CBOFGC is the only club in the world with reciprocal rights to St Andrews GC!

It is located about 900km north of ADELAIDE and the course is about 2 minutes drive from the town main street.

(Police Golf day is a great day to go, is all arranged for great day of golf and night of entertainment but the money etc raised goes to local charities..)

I was a golf club member until 1991 when I moved away... I even replaced one of the old "keep off the grass" signs, but mine was atop a post and leaned out towards the roadway! (deliberately!)

How did it get reciprocal rights with St Andrews you may ask? Well read on....

Coober Pedy Golf Course is the only golf course in the world that has reciprocal playing rights with St.Andrew’s. One look at the golf course and you may doubt the story. It does has a “divot” associated with it but we won’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Back in 2002, the Coober Pedy Golf Course clubhouse was destroyed by fire. After the new clubhouse was built, the club president sent St.Andrew’s a photo of the course and told them it was about time they got their course in good shape and asked if they would like reciprocal membership.

Much to the his surprise a letter arrived from St.Andrew’s Links Trust granting reciprocal rights on the provision they grant St.Andrew’s an opal mine. The opal mine and reciprocal rights were given making Cooper Pedy Golf Course the only course in the world with reciprocal rights with St.Andrew’s.

The “divot” in this story is that the reciprocal rights granted to the Coober Pedy Golf Club members is for the Balgove Course, the 9-hole and perhaps worst course in the St.Andrew’s Links Trust portfolio.

A good game for kids,keeps them off the streets.:)


The youngest one actually beat Jason Day in a couple of junior comps.
