OK I thought that the austins has a side to side metal rib roof but after a look about have now seen photos with same roof.. I thought Land Rover but really they were parallel in looks in a lot of ways.. Anyway doesn't belong on a jeep. :)

My wife lives in Canberra and has to ride her bike 17km to work, to be there by 7. She is not enjoying Canberra winter. I really worry about her riding, but on the plus side, she is wearing so much clothing that should she fall she's well padded.

Pedal. Luckily Canberra sounds like it's really bicycle friendly. It's bike track nearly all the way. She's had kangaroos close frequently, but the closest to a stack she's had so far has been a fox almost running into her wheel.

Apologies for the low quality of the pic, but the Photographer was having difficulty holding still... :o

To make it worse, he was watching incredulously as the load straps were being thrown over the load, and when Driver started tightening them.... he just 'lost it'... :p:p:p

Here's the ideal drone for use when you're off the beaten track.

I can see it being used for such tasks as... scouting a water-crossing, especially if you don't feel like getting your feet wet, finding your way out of a maze of sand dunes when you suspect 'Geographical Embarrasment'.
Or, in desperate times, you can mount a camera of any kind on it and take it up to 10,000 feet (3,030 metres for you youngsters) and see exactly where you might be...

Reminds me of an accident across the road from where I lived about 35 years ago.
We lived on a busy road with park land across the road.
The park had a fence that consisted of 4x4regum posts with a 4x4 top rail.

A car lost control, hit the fence and then the top rail speared the grill, firewall, the drivers midriff and through the rear of his seat.

They had to cut the post either side of guts and lift him into the ambulance with the post still in him.

I slept through the whole event but my dad was there and he told me about it.

About 40 years ago I was front seat passenger in a 180B when the driver lost it in a wet timber deck bridge somewhere north of Bungendore. We went through the bridge rails, which were those 4x4 redgum things. One came through the screen In front of my head and behind his, the bottom one came through under my legs and pierced the tunnel. The middle one broke off thank God, or whoever. We then fell about 20 feet into the river. Injuries? I cracked three ribs, and he dislocated his thumbs bracing on the wheel.

Too complicated I reckon. Put in an Auto :D

It's illegal to take both hands from the wheel when driving. Other than that it's not that difficult when you've learned how. And Jimmy diesels aren't hard to match revs with... until you go deaf, of course.
With the torque these days a setup like that is nonsense. In today's traffic it's downright dangerous. Cool though.

He could afford it, I couldn't!

Saw a bloke do something similar with a large rock and a new Hilux on the weekend. The biggest worry was after he heard the scrape, in his rush to inspect the damage he left the handbrake off. Luckily for all concerned he was able to run and jump in the cab and stop it. Could have been much worse.

In fairness, it's a very narrow garage. Have to park like that so you have space to open drivers door without dinging it. 😀

I think he was trying to hide it quick as he'd pranged the front r/h. The tyre was off and the guard was mangled. Obviously had trouble steering it with the front tyre stuffed. IDIOT. Wrecked the car and the house...well thats where tools belong...in the garage.

Re the Porsche into the garage, it appears the driver was a 15-yo unlicenced driver who'd had an accident (front right corner) and left the scene.

Hi,
I saw a bloke in a Valiant waggon do similar under our building at work.
A tight turn left to the exit needed a wide approach, as well evidenced by the tyre marks on the concrete floor.
He hung it up near the rear passenger door hinge. Got out, inspected the damage, spat the dummy, kicked the car, limped back to the driver's seat and floored it.

When the smoke and noise dispersed he had got most of his car out and away.

Maintenance addressed the hazard by bolting a huge bit of angle iron to the remaining concrete pillar and painting it yellow with black stripes.
Cheers

As much as it makes me weep for the future of humanity, I think it is.
I mean I'm all for individual expression and the right to be the master of one's own destiny but jeez, you'd think that surely there comes a point where they have that one penny dropping moment where they realise 'gosh I'm a collosal ******'
