From WESTPRINT Friday 5, one for seniors.

COMMANDMENTS FOR SENIORS
Talk to yourself. There are times you need expert advice.
Style are the clothes that still fit.
You don't need anger management. You need people to stop annoying you.
Your people skills are just fine. It's your tolerance for idiots that needs work.
The biggest lie you tell yourself is, I don't need to write that down. I'll remember it.
On time is when you get there.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid, but it sure does muffle the sound.
It would be wonderful if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes, then come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller?
Lately, you've noticed people your age look so much older than you.
Growing old should have taken longer.
Aging has slowed you down, but it hasn't shut you up.
You still haven't learned to act your age and hope you never will.

Forwarded these as a text to my old mum this morning. Just caught up with her reply and they had her laughing out loud she reckoned. She was off this afternoon with an old friend, both to visit another old mate in the hospital and she was looking forward to reading them out to her, and the rest of the ward too no doubt... Well done… now flush the urinal, wash your hands, go outside and tee off.

A woman walks into a chemist shop and tells the pharmacist she wants to buy some arsenic.
“What do you want to do with the arsenic?” the pharmacist asks.
“I want to kill my husband because he cheats on me by having sex with another woman,” the woman replies.
“I can't sell you arsenic to kill your husband, even if he is having sex with another woman,” the pharmacist says.
The woman reaches into her pocket and pulls out a photo of her husband having sex with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist says, “Oh I'm terribly sorry, I didn't realise that you had a prescription.”

One day while going to the shop, I passed a retirement village. On the front lawn were six old ladies, lying naked on the lawn. I thought this was a bit unusual, but continued on my way. On my return trip, I passed the same retirement village with the same old ladies lying naked on the lawn. This time my curiosity got the better of me. I went inside to talk to the village Administrator, and asked her, “Do you know there are six old ladies lying naked on your front lawn?” “Yes” she said, “Aren't they darlings, they’re retired prostitutes, and they’re having a garage sale.”

Climate Change.
The Aboriginals in a remote part of Northern Australia asked their new elder if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was an elder in a modern community he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.
Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the tribe should collect firewood to be prepared. But being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea. He walked out to the telephone booth on the highway, called the Bureau of Meteorology and asked, “is the coming winter in this area going to be cold?’ The meteorologist responded, 'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold”.
So, the elder went back to his tribe and told them to collect even more wood in order to be prepared. A week later he called the Bureau of Meteorology again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?’ The meteorologist again replied, 'Yep, it's going to be a very cold winter.’
The elder went back to his tribe and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find. Two weeks later the elder called the Bureau again. Hey, 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold? 'Absolutely,' the guy replied. 'It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters ever.’
'How can you be so sure?' the elder asked.
The weatherman replied, 'Our satellites have reported that the Aboriginals in the north are collecting firewood like crazy, and that's always a sure sign.’

A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.

Their domestic tranquillity had long been the talk of the town, and on this special occasion, a local newspaper reporter paid them a visit.

He inquired as to the secret of their long and happy marriage.

“Well,” explained the husband, “it all goes back to our honeymoon.

We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by pack mule.”

‘We hadn’t gone too far when my wife’s mule stumbled.

My wife quietly said ‘That’s once.’ We proceeded a little farther when the mule stumbled again.

Once more my wife quietly spoke: ‘That’s twice.‘ We hadn’t gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled a third time.

My wife promptly removed a revolver from her purse, hopped down off the beast, and shot the mule dead.”

“I started to protest over her treatment of the mule when she looked at me and quietly said, ‘That’s once.”‘

A guy goes to the dentist to have a tooth extracted.
The dentist pulls out a numbing needle to give the man a shot.
"No way! No needles. I hate needles" the patient said.
The dentist starts to hook up the nitrous oxide and the man says:
" I can't do the gas thing. The thought of having the gas mask on
suffocates me!'
The dentist then asks the patient if he has any objections to taking a pill.
"No objection," he says. "I'm fine with pills."
The dentist gives him a couple of pills. He swallows them.
"What are they?" he says.
"Viagra," says the dentist.
"Heck," the patient says, "I didn't know Viagra worked as a pain killer."
"It doesn't" said the dentist, "But it will give you something to hold on to

My grandad told this story, which he swore was true.

Some fancy black tie dinner somewhere, in the 1930s. Lot s of bigjobs making speeches. Tables of diplomats and the like, eating and enjoying a wine. One of the chaps at his table spied a Chinese man sitting with them. Probably not common then. So, this chap would lean across as each course was dispatched and say "you likee soup?', or "you likee lamb?' and "you likee wine?" Then, this Chinese man was called to speak, and spoke for 20 minutes in perfectly nuanced and accented English. On point and eloquent. He returned to the table, amid much applause, and leant to this bloke and said "you likee speech?".

My grandad wasn't a liar......

The videos you post that are deleted here by the Mods are also demonitised on Youtube based on the same criteria as Adsense - if they are demonitised on Youtube, you can't post them here. Anything that mentions Covid, guns, swear words, and 100's of other words will automatically not have ads on them - it's an automatic system there but we have to do it manually. If you don't see an ad before a Youtube video, then you shouldn't post the link. Even if it has ads, it may not have been up long enough for the algorithm to demonitise it, so you should always be cautious of any video that has the previously mentioned trigger words in it ANYWHERE in the video - spoken or written.

Caught more than a few chooks. Kerang (vic) show had a chook chase. Some rude sod made me give all but ONE I grabbed away to the slow buggers[biggrin] Or the little ones who must have wondered? A job as a kid catching chooks for the end of life bit was a key. I grabbed ten and gave it to the bigger guys other ten to load 20 in to a crate at 3am -5am I think. The technique carried well for the free chooks. Those of you who have never seen how that KFC and red roster stuff gets into a box or your roast chook might be a happy to know slave labor got me a whole $10 for the time except just once when the rope on a large stake of loaded crates of chooks on a truck a snapped. “But, to conclude, I say and maintain, that of all torcheculs, arsewisps, bumfodders, tail-napkins, bunghole cleansers, and wipe-breeches, there is none in the world comparable to the neck of a goose, that is well downed, if you hold her head betwixt your legs. As long as he didn’t slip and fall on the cob… it might aggravate more than the piles[emoji12]

A lot better than they feel about being force fed to make foie gras, I imagine.

A bit late to tell me you meant Naked as in no music, head phones or electronics recording pace and distance! The rotten sods even got a pic of me running home

I can vaguely recall the days when we drove in to the forecourt & said "Fill'er up Mate" & left them to it.

While the tank was being brimmed another geezer cleaned the screen & someone checked tyre pressures.\\\If

If they splashed juice on the paintwork they washed it off with a watering can.

Mind you, I am talking back in the days of Pterodactyls.

Probably not, as he has a pretty rough olde Driveway to negotiate before he can turn Left or Right to the nearest Moiphys & couldn't scoot along like that bloke. And of course there is the dust.................?

But I will keep this in mind for any future voyages to the smoke.
